Soft Starts in Second Grade
Funded Aug 16, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity to my classroom. My students have been excited to learn about and use the STEM bins as a soft start on Friday mornings as a reward.
Letting students manipulate and use these hands-on materials has been crucial in the success in their understanding of math concepts. Being able to let students manipulate the hands on a clock and build a greater understanding of place value when using the base 10 blocks has been so rewarding to see.
As the year goes on, I am excited to see how my students' understanding and success in math concepts grow. I plan on reflecting to see what manipulatives worked well and what others I may need to add to my classroom.
Thank you so much for you kindness and generosity. My students and I thank you!”

Funded Dec 1, 2021I am so thankful for your kindness and generosity in supporting building my classroom library. My students have thoroughly been enjoying the abundance of themed read alouds in our new classroom library. Having a sturdy bookcase, easily accessible to my young students. They love being able to be independent and have the opportunity to pick their favorite books and read independently during choice time.
Fostering a love of reading with my students has been such a special time for me as a teacher. I thank you for allowing me to provide students with a variety of diverse books to teach them about holidays such as Christmas, Groundhog Day, and St. Patrick's Day.
Read on!”

Funded Aug 22, 2021Starting off the year with a rug is so essential to my daily teaching. Every morning we begin on the rug and start our day with morning meeting. In morning meeting we establish a social rapport among our class, learning name games and learning about each other's backgrounds.
Students are able to use the rug to sit closer to the board, read a book when they have finished their work, and teachers are able to pull a small group and work together on the rug.
The printer is extremely helpful in my classroom, being that I do not have printing access in my building. By printing the necessary materials for the week, students are able to get the needed worksheets in order to learn the skill for the day.
Thank you for your generosity. It is so appreciated.”

Learning with Miss Linnehan
Funded Aug 12, 2021My students and I are so appreciative of the resources that was sent to our classroom. From the first day of school, students were able to get the day started using their pencil cases, crayons, colored pencils, and markers. As their teacher, I was able to establish a culture of respect, community, and friendship from reading the books such as "The Name Jar" and "A Bad Case of the Stripes".
My students were so excited to learn that they were able to keep these materials for the whole year. By starting the year off with these materials, students were able to find success completing Getting to Know You activities, Student Interviews, and All About Me Activities.
Thank you all so much for donating to my project. It means so much you are willing to help students that may not have the means to provide these supplies for themselves.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Linnehan
