  • You Read, I Read, We ALL Read!

    Funded Jun 3, 2018

The new books have been an amazing addition to our classroom. When we introduced shapes, my students loved their new books "Triangle" and "Square" by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen. We cannot wait for the release of the third book "Circle" by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen. They laughed throughout the story and you could see them thinking about the story as we continued to read. One student made a triangle house in the art center and said, "Square cannot go in or he will get stuck."

The book, "I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean," helped to engage my students when learning about the ocean habitat. They enjoyed the colorful pictures and the silly squid. After the story, a few of the students drew pictures of ocean animals and included many animals from the story.

We love to read and there is nothing better than a book to help us get engaged and learn about new topics. Thank you so much for your kindness! Happy Holidays!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zheng

  • Basic Classroom Supplies for Pre-K

    Funded Aug 27, 2018

Thank you so much for the basic supplies!! The pencils, markers, and glue bottles are staple supplies needed throughout the day. With these basic supplies the children have been able to practice writing their names, drawing daily in their journals, illustrating poems, building and decorating houses. Without these essential items my students wouldn't be able to practice basic fine motor skills that are need for writing. Thank you so much for donating to our classroom and I hope you like our hard work!”

  • Pre-K, Tell Me Your Story Please

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

The technology that we received through this project has been a game changer. Our students are able to look at pictures of their daily activities on our new digital photo frames. It engages them in conversation and provides them a sense of pride every time they see themselves in a photo.

The USB microphone and Bluetooth speakers allow us to record and listen to our own stories. We made our very own class book, "Pre-K 1 Pre-K 1, Who Do You See?" It is one of their favorite stories! Using our GoPro camera, our students are able to narrate their adventures in the playground, giving them opportunity to practice oral language skills and share their adventures with their families. The Bluetooth speakers have allowed us to take music and dance outside to the playground!

It's amazing how these extra pieces of technology have benefited my students and we are truly grateful for your kindness and generosity. Thank you so much!”

  • Warm and Toasty in the Cold and Snow!

    Funded Aug 23, 2018

My students are toasty and warm thanks to your wonderful donation to our class! Each day our class ventures outside to explore, play, and exercise with their friends. We run, jump, hop, skip, and dance. Sometimes parents are unable or forget to provide hats and gloves for their children as they rush off to work each day. Now all the students in my class can participate in their own outdoor adventures!

Once the snow starts to fall, we can't wait to use our waterproof gloves to build, dig, and play with snow. With these waterproof gloves my students will be able to keep their little fingers warm as they explore snow! We can't wait to face the winter with our new gear! Thank you so much!”

  • STEM in the Block Center

    Funded Aug 15, 2018

My students have really taken to the new additions in our block center. They have created different ramps to test which ball will go down the ramp faster. They also tested if the ball would travel faster or if a car would travel faster. We have tried changing the height and watching how it effects the speed of the object.

Using their imagination, they re-purposed the ramps and created roadways and bridges for their vehicles. As the year goes on I'm excited to see other ways they will use the ramps. We have not taken out the simple machines as of yet. But once we get started on our house unit, I'm sure our students will figure out a million different ways to use simple machines to build a house. Thank you so much donating to our classroom and inspiring future engineers!”

  • A Clean Classroom for Healthy Students!

    Funded Aug 27, 2018

Our classroom is sparkling clean thanks to you! My students are learning healthy habits and learning to clean up after themselves. Before they play with sand or water, before and after they eat, after we come back from the playground, they are constantly washing their hands. Now don't have to worry about not having enough soap or using too much soap. The automatic soap dispenser has been a great addition to our classroom allowing our students to wash their hands with just enough soap and helping us prevent waste. My students mop up water on the floor and sweep up dropped cereal and sand. We use the Clorox anywhere spray to sanitize toys and tables to prevent germs from spreading around as well! Thanks again for helping my students become amazing cleaners and stay healthy as we fight off germs.”

  • Outdoor Art

    Funded May 24, 2018

We had so much fun making our own sidewalk chalk paint. Every day the students made their own batch of sidewalk chalk paint and we took it outside to create art! By the end of the week, my students were pros. They measured, mixed, and poured to create their very own paint. The students also made some to take home for the summer! Thank you so much for contributing to our project. My students had the opportunity to enjoy art outside in the playground and on the steps on of their homes thanks to you!”

  • Financial Literacy through a Flower Shop!

    Funded May 17, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity! At the end of the year, my students had a blast setting up their own flower shop. They made flowers to sell and they loved the flower cart. Sometimes they made mini flowers to add to the flower cart. I would catch them saying, "How much for 2 flowers?" and "That will be $2 please." My students learned to count dollar bills and make one to one correspondence between one dollar and one flower. They learned that if they had a limited amount of money they could only buy a limited amount of flowers. The activity was a great way for my students to learn about financial literacy while playing and interacting with one another.”

  • Pre-K Bugging Out!

    Funded Apr 12, 2018

Thank you so much for contributing to our Bugging Out! project. My students now have a new found appreciation for crawling critters. We had the opportunity to watch eggs turn into caterpillars and then into butterflies. My students are now on the hunt for bugs whenever we go into the playground. When my students are in the science centers they are using the insect specimens and matching them to the ones they see in books. They are also very interested in spiders! They are amazed by the many different species of spiders. Thanks to you we might have future entomologists in our classroom!”

  • Oh Baby! How Do We Care For You?

    Funded Aug 20, 2017

The baby dolls and items to care for a baby have been extremely useful and fun for my students! We are currently in the midst of our baby unit and my students are having a blast in dramatic play. They are feeding the baby, washing the baby, and changing the baby's diaper. They are noticing the difference between babies and themselves. They are seeing how they have grown and changed with time. Soon they'll be going to Kindergarten! Thank you again for providing my students the materials needed for a fun and engaging experience with babies!”

PreK is a special place for your child to learn and grow. Children learn to socialize, build self-confidence, and independence. We want to teach children manners, self-expression, and how to communicate and interact with others. The skills children learn in PreK are important and necessary for the future and will help them throughout their lives. I hope my students will continue their education careers with a love for learning and reading.
