  • Power Up Learning in the Lab

    Funded Jan 27, 2017

Thank you for the dual chargers and wires to put them in. The power strips and wipes are also greatly appreciated. With these items, we can charge our tablets and other electronic devices without interrupting instruction. In our lab, tablets are used in small groups to differentiate instruction. When devices are not powered up, learning stops. With your donation, students will be able to continue understanding how to be good digital citizens.

The donated product that was most exciting to my students was the Windex Electronic Wipes! They help clean our monitors and our tablets! The students all love the look and smell of freshly cleaned monitors!

Thank you for giving us the supplies needed to use technology properly in our school. With these items, students will learn about technology in a more efficient way without interruption.”

    Ms. Lennon

  • Our Library Needs A Refill

    Funded Feb 19, 2014

Remember when you got a new book, knowing you were the first person to open it? Well, that feeling of joy is what you've given to the many students who benefited from your donation. Thank you so much for giving the gift of new books to my students. Each book brought many new smiles.

Our students are avid readers and our library is in need of new books each year. Thank you for showing our students how important it is to read. Although they know it's important, you have shown them through your generous donation of great books on their level. You've also shown them that their needs are important to others. They now see that people want them to succeed.

On behalf of all of the students that I serve, thank you for your donation. Thank you for caring about students in need. Thank you for giving my students the gift of good books.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lennon

  • Tools For Techies

    Funded Nov 10, 2013

Thank you so much for supporting the efforts of the more than 700 students that use the library every day for researching, creating presentations, and viewing videos. With the new Common Core Standards, it is now more important than ever that young students have a good foundation in using technology wisely. With your donation, teachers in my school now have the tools necessary to educate students and allow them to experience online resources in a way that will foster their learning. We appreciate your donation and your dedication to the boys and girls of our school. Thank you!”

  • Big Problem On The Silver Screen

    Funded Oct 22, 2012

Thank you so much for your donations toward the purchase of a new screen for our auditorium and a set of headphones for our library/media center! Your donations have allowed us to utilize our auditorium for a multitude of purposes that, for a long period of time, we were unable to do. Our school prides itself on being a jewel in the center of a poor community. We make time to have events in our auditorium and invite parents and members of the community to take part in the festivities and special presentations. Students use the auditorium to perform and present research. A year ago, we were victims of graffiti and our screen, that was used daily, was ruined. Some of our equipment was vandalized and we were unable to do many things. Your donation has allowed us to revive our efforts to let our students shine. You have improved the look and feel of our auditorium. We are now able to invite parents and other special guests. Thank you, donors, for reminding our students how important they are and allowing us to, once again, open our auditorium doors to the community. We appreciate what you have done for us.”

  • Boxed Out Of Recycling

    Funded Oct 27, 2012

Your donations have transformed the way our urban elementary school manages garbage, bottles, and paper. Prior to your donation, teachers and students had a very hard time abiding by our city's mandate to recycle in our building. We did not have the proper materials in each classroom, office or hallway to make sure recycling took place. Paper, plastic, metals and garbage were all mixed in to two random bins/boxes in each classroom and students were not well versed in school recycling procedures. Quite honestly, we simply didn't have any procedures. Your donations allowed us to purchase small blue paper-recycling bins for each classroom and office as well as large blue bins for each hallway (one for bottles/cans and another for paper - both with lids). With the help of our Student Government Organization, who gave presentations to their classes as well as lower grade classes, all of our 720 students have been given detailed instructions on how to recycle in our school. They also have an understanding of how our actions can help save the Earth. Thank you for giving our students the tools they need to make a impact on their future.”

  • Turn My Mic Up!

    Funded Dec 6, 2011

Thank you, donors, for impacting the lives of the more than 700 students that attend our school. We have many talented students and are always looking for ways to give them opportunities to express themselves on our stage. Many of our students are involved in the Poets Society, National Elementary Honor Society, Dance Club, Drama Club, Choir and Guitar Progam. Each year, along with monthly assemblies and concerts, we have a Talent Show! That's where our talented students get to really shine on our auditorium stage.

What you have done, donors, is given our school the necessary equipment to expand past the stage and allow our young stars to sing, act, and share their talents in a way that every audience member can connect with. With the wireless microphones, students that are not necessarily on stage can now make their voices heard from their seats! Everyone at our school is now a star because of you. Thank you for your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lennon

  • Vote For the President!

    Funded Dec 6, 2010

I can not tell you how much I appreciate the scissors, flash drives and books your donations have purchased.  Our school's Student Government, Art Club and Honor Society members are smart, talented and eager to help/learn about the community that they live in.  With your donations, they will be more knowledgeable about the world they live in.  They will have the tools necessary to showcase their talent. They will also have the technical equipment necessary prepare themselves for the next step in their lives...middle school!

It is with the support of donors like you, that students in neighborhoods that are not so well-off will have the tools they need to be successful.  On behalf of my students...THANK YOU”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lennon

  • Throw It In The Bag

    Funded Jan 12, 2010

I have been organizing the library and keeping the books neat for three years. As a librarian, I can work as hard as possible to keep the library looking clean, but as soon as the books leave my sight, they get dirty. Most of the students are very careful with our books. Most of our students really love reading and appreciate books as much as I do. But, sometimes books fall out of their little hands and end up on the floor or orange juice may spill on a page.

Your donation has provided our school with a way to keep each and every book clean and safe. The Book Pouches allow students to be independent readers who choose their own books. They also prevent books from getting damaged and in need of being replaced.

Thank you so much for keeping our books clean!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lennon

  • Just A Trim

    Funded May 17, 2009

Thank you so much for your kind donation! Our Art Club is better than ever, this year, thanks to you. We have already entered three contests using the paper cutter and bright paper that your funds have purchased! We are crossing our fingers for a winning art piece. But, even without recognition from national contests, students, staff, and members of our school community have already acknowledged the quality of art pieces that they have seen in our hallways!

Thanks to your gracious donation, our school is really paying attention to our young artists and we are looking forward to entering more art contests. On behalf of all the students in our Art Club, thank you for helping us to be proud of the work that we do and giving us the tools to do it with.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lennon

  • With Honor, We Serve

    Funded Jan 25, 2009

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The Honor Society of my school has been so frustrated with the fact that we did not have a camera until you made the best donation ever. By donating money towards purchasing a digital camera, we can now prove that we serve our communities. Members were so happy to have use of the camera, they asked if they could take it home to "snap pics" of their families! It is so beautiful and kid-friendly, with each community service that we do, anyone can take a picture. Our next community service will be at a shelter devoted to helping women with children. The Honor Society takes great pride in giving to people in need. We often don't think of ourselves as being in need, but each of you has fulfilled a simple wish.

Thanks again for your kind donations. Know that however we serve the community, you all will be with us every step of the way.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lennon
