Fingerplay for the 21st Century's Kindergartener!!
Funded Nov 11, 2013The kindergarten students and I would like to extend our greatest appreciation for the various instructional materials and technology that you have generously provided for our classroom. Thank you for donating the materials that students utilize daily during the Universal Access time of their academic day. Students absolutely love using the computers and thereby learning. They can't wait for their turns. Thank you for contributing to our project and granting my students with that much enthusiasm for learning!!
With your donations, students have been able to utilize the classroom computers with greater ease and efficiency. Many have added to their learning and self confidence; they have greatly improved in Language Arts and Math. Students are reading and decoding independently!!
Moreover, the other instructional materials have been vital in helping smaller groups of students in strengthening their fine motor skills while learning to identify and form the letters in the alphabet. Developed fine motor skills allow the smaller group of students to then utilize the mouse and keyboard more effectively when utilizing the classroom computers.
All of these great improvements and personal achievements of each student in our kindergarten class could not have occurred without your belief and support of public education!!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Choi
If You Give A Kindergartener A Learning Tool
Funded Nov 9, 2012It makes me smile when I observe my students rushing to complete their given assignments so they can be the first to chose a new puzzle or learning activity. I'm bursting with pride as I examine their work and feel their anticipation. Their little feet shuffle in place as they stand anxiously waiting for me to check their work. They're hoping for my approval so they can chose a different learning activity. It excites me to see how much they love learning. They truly see it as fun!!
Thank you for providing my students with new puzzles, games, and learning tools that help them apply what was learned during the Language Arts instructional block. The children utilize the donated materials daily. They love them!! And, I love that they love the activities, and of course, the learning!!
The donated materials engage all students and challenge many of them. These learning activities are essential in teaching my students to become more independent learners!!”

Funded Jan 25, 2012The kindergarteners and I were incredibly excited the day we received the box of headphones!! We had been anticipating their arrival and more importantly their use. The students knew the donated equipment would be used with the computers and the iPads, the most popular pieces of technology in our classroom. They couldn't wait for me to unwrap the plastic and pass the headphones out for immediate use.
The children understood that the headphones would help them hear the directions for Language Arts and Math activities on the computer and the iPads more clearly. They knew the headphones would increase their fun time and I believed the headphones would help students focus and learn and review important early reading skills and math concepts from the many activities they already enjoyed.
Students no longer need to search for a quiet corner in the classroom (almost always nonexistent in kindergarten) to work on different activities on the iPad because of the headphones. They now work comfortably on the rug without being distracted from surrounding children. They are attentive and engaged. And, other students not using the computers or the iPads are not distracted from the playful sound effects coming from the technology.
We are so thankful for each and every donation. Thank you for providing my kindergarteners with the means to increase their academic learning and independence. Thank you for giving them a "quiet corner" in the classroom.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Choi
