  • Time For An Upgrade!

    Funded Nov 23, 2021

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation to my classroom! My students will be so excited to see the new equipment. Even more exciting will be when they find out that it was made possible by kind people who don’t know them, yet want them to succeed and want them to have the materials to do so.

It is so timely that Thanksgiving is just a couple days away, because I am so thankful for your support. I only wish you could see the faces of my students when they see all of the new equipment. Once again, my sincerest thanks.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. LeCours

Thank you for coming through for my kiddos! I am always looking for new ways to have a high level engagement in my class and this is another set of tools to keep us there! Your passion to help my students is greatly appreciated, thank you for being a part of our learning experience.”

  • Making Connections Regardless of Language Barriers!

    Funded Aug 30, 2017

What a difference our new materials have made in the classroom! The ability to create and print materials, as simple as it may be, has brought a better level of understanding concepts in my classroom. The students love seeing what new sheets we have throughout the gym! Having pictures and multiple language translations has been a huge help the the Physical Education program. With the our large population of new immigrants, whom speak little to no English, they have stepped into my classroom with a sense of relief when they have access to materials in their native language.

Your contributions create an unlimited level to learning, thank you.”

    With gratitude,

  • Starting the School Year Off Right!

    Funded Jul 6, 2017

We cannot thank you enough for your generosity in bettering our Physical Education program. The ability to use technology in Physical Education creates a whirlwind of opportunities to extend the learning to higher levels of thinking and skill building. At this point, my classes have only brushed the surface with tired level skills the project on the wall after they complete their work, the use of fitness videos that other students have created for the lower grades, and as use for station guides. I look forward to being able to expand upon in as the year continues.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

  • Time to Get Outside!

    Funded Apr 20, 2016

    Dear Donors,

You have given many additional opportunities for my students to grow and learn! The students were able to use the resources for in a variety of different ways in just the few weeks we had left in school, I can't wait to see how we use them come the start of the year! By being able to access pedometers, the students not only measured their steps taken each class, but compared levels of physical activity from fast paced sports to lifetime leisure activities. When the students saw the new PUGG goals, they were ecstatic! Quick, easy, and portable goals means that they had more space & playing time, something that they greatly value!

Our next steps for future lessons will be to incorporate step level incentives for the whole school. It would have teams (classrooms) battling for the most steps while incorporating math skills, an excellent way to add interdisciplinary education to our school!

Thank you for all that you do!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. LeCours

  • “It Is A Happy Talent To Know How To Play.” – R. Emerson

    Funded Nov 1, 2015

My students loved having the idea of earned prizes enter our Physical Education class, even more so when they learned that the same prizes could be brought out to recess for them to play with! When the unveiling of our treasure chest happened in class, the excitement to become even more actively engaged was amazing to see!

The students are already on round two of earning their second prize! Every standard-based assessment we have in class, students have the opportunity to earn a sticker on their sticker chart for mastering the skill or concept. Once a student earns 5 stickers, they pick a prize and start working on their second set of five stickers. I am excited to share that 94% of the students in my 2nd - 4th grade classes have earned a prize, with the remaining students only one to two stickers away!

Thank you again for your help in providing incentives for my students, the power of play is so important to all, children and adults!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. LeCours

  • "What Did You Say?!?"

    Funded Feb 17, 2015

Thank you for your tremendous support for my students and their learning experiences. Technology in any form excites and motivates the students to another level, especially when that technology makes their voices boom throughout the gymnasium! Once the students saw the new microphones and headsets they instantly asked if they could play teacher and lead the class for the day. What the project initially started as a way for my students to be able to better hear my instructions, it quickly lead to more student taught classes. Thank you for your gift of clear communication.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. LeCours

  • Odds and Ends to a Successful School Year!

    Funded Sep 5, 2014

The students were more than excited to have new goals that would actually catch their shot instead of going through massive holes in the nets! The students love the light weight portability and sturdiness that their new equipment brings them. The first comment from one of my students that had me actually laughing out loud was, " Ms! I can go hard now and score mad goals without worrying about the ball hitting someone on the other side!"

The pure excitement and challenges that you have helped bring to my classroom will aid in motivation for many units to come. The versatility of the nets and the disk ring have brought, and will continue to bring many opportunities. Our gratitude for your help is unmatched, thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. LeCours

  • Bouncing Back Into Fitness

    Funded Aug 17, 2014

"What in the world is that thing?" This is the single question that almost every one of my students asked. When my students saw the rebounders for the first time they had no idea how they worked and their purpose, that changed quickly.

My students were beyond thrilled to play Tchoukball. It was a new and engaging experience that they will continue to enjoy for years to come. We have not yet started our units on refining manipulative skills, such as throwing and catching. However, I know my students will enjoy the great new addition to their learning centers.

It fills me with great joy to see my students be able to truly enjoy a moment of pure play and to be able to step away from the troubles of an at risk community. As part of my goal to teach the whole child, providing opportunities that aid in emotional wellness is a constant part of my curriculum. Each tool, no matter the size, brings my students closer to stronger, healthier coping strategies. Each of these strategies are possible thanks to you and your donation. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of my children.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. LeCours

  • Back to the Basics!

    Funded Mar 14, 2014

Nothing more could make my students as excited as something as simple as new basketballs. Basketball to my students is something much more than a sport, basketball is a part of their community. In an area where there is not much available, you will always find groups of people making connections while playing basketball. The leadership, camaraderie, and wellness components developed through the sport of basketball in my students' community are unlike no other.

With the desire my students have to better their fundamental skills in the classroom in order to succeed in the community is an opportunity I could not pass over. With the new basketballs that you have so generously provided, my students have developed stronger physical skills in the fundamentals of basketball. These fundamentals have transferred into confidence outside of the classroom and has led students into become leaders and the ability to play fair with one another. Friendships have continued to form between students and community members that could not have been fore scene, all because of your generosity.

After seeing the results expand throughout the community, this project has gave me the motivation to continue providing opportunities and activities that my students can take from the classroom and share with their family and friends. I can't wait to see what my students and I can accomplish next.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. LeCours
