When asked to brainstorm small business project ideas, my students did not have to think long to suggest coffee! They argued that it was simple, a cheaper product to sell, and it would make teachers happy! After coining a title for our coffee cart, my students wanted create a "catch phrase". After much consideration, they decided on, "Don't be a lazy grape, get some jumping beans!" The donations to this project will not only purchase the necessary materials, but they will help to improve my students' understanding of financial literacy and the soft skills necessary to become successful after high school in college, the workforce, or the military. When researching supplies, my students pointed out that we would not have enough coffee to serve each of our teachers if we only brewed one pot of coffee. They mentioned that it would save time if we could have two or three coffee bars to speed up the coffee brewing process. A great way to learn is to practice, and these materials will help my students do just that! The materials listed below will give my students the opportunity to practice financial literacy (counting money, budgeting, etc.) and communication skills. Eventually, we all agreed on one Ninja Coffee Bar Brewer with two Replacement Carafes and a Cusimax Double Electric Hot Plate to keep the Folgers Classic Medium Coffee warm! Customers are welcome to customize their coffee in a Disposable Hot Paper Coffee Cup with Nestle Coffee-Mate Creamer, Monin Sugar Free Syrup, and/or Domino Sugar. As thrilled as my students are, their anticipation alone cannot make this project happen! We need your support to help turn this project idea into a reality! We thank you in advance for your support and your belief in us to excel!
