  • Small Group Instruction for Diverse Learners

    Funded Sep 13, 2017

My students had an extremely successful year! More than 75% of my students passed or made their growth on the state test! I know it has everything to do with the materials I was given to organize and instruct! For this, I am greatly appreciated. Students continuously tell me that this was the best year they had ever had. It's due to donors like you who see the need for teachers to give more and be more. The goal is to be more organized with the ability to extend the instruction students receive. The materials and support I received will last many years!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. L.

  • Family Game Night

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I am extremely grateful for the opportunities you gave all of 4th grade students and families! I was able to create and host a grade level event that involved students and their families. Due to the region we are in, many students do not have access to Internet. The struggle with this is the way education is moving more into the technology driven world. We needed a way to connect parents with student learning and show them how they can assist students at home without the use of technology.

The evening of Family Game Night, participants were able to rotate around 7 different classroom all playing 7 different games. These games were not only created by teachers, but also incorporated the subjects math, reading, and history. Also, each family member was given a copy of the game. Students also left with a book of their choice that they would enjoy reading at home.

The supplies for this event were all graciously provided by each one of you. Without your support, it would have been impossible for this event to succeed. The amazing; parents and students were extremely happy and pleased with the resources they were given. Teachers who volunteered their time were already talking about next year's event. It thrills me to see so many excited about bringing learning home.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. L.

  • Empowering Students With News

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity! I am more than excited to see this venture get started. It is a privilege to have this kind of opportunity to empower students on a daily basis. I love what I do and never take it for granted! To know there is a community that feels the same way gives hope and inspiration that we can and will empower our students to believe they will succeed in whatever they choose to do!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. L.

The equipment I am requesting is to move our school into the 21st century. The goal is to create a school news program led by students. It would provide students and staff with the weather, school's lunch, any school news, interviews with staff and students, and so much more! The ample learning opportunities these amazing students would benefit from are limitless. By allowing students to create and deliver the school news, we are then empowering students with leadership skills, teaching them a trade, and building their confidence! And, that's just naming a few. Academically, students will be responsible for developing their own questions for interviews, becoming fluent in grammar and public speaking, and this will positively transfer into their core subjects. Students here thrive off of responsibility. They need continuous encouragement and motivation. Most importantly, they need to see and believe that they can achieve in more ways than they know. What better way than "journalism"?
