Books and Books
Funded Jan 20, 2022I would first like to start by saying thank you for the generosity. The students were very excited when the project was funded and even more when it arrived. These books are being used to small group book study projects. As the year comes to an end and testing season starts to wrap up as well, the students are forming small self-selected groups with their classmates. Each group is working with a book of their choice and will read it together in a book club style and later present it to the rest of the class.
As you can see in the pictures, they were very happy and surprised by the vast selection of literature.
Once again, thank you for your generosity!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Mendoza

Funded Oct 26, 2021I always like to start my letter to the donors with a very well deserved thank you. Your generosity is extremely appreciated by not only me but the students as well. The students are very eager to work with the Time for Kids Magazines. They look forward to getting their hands on text that is real and current to their everyday lives.
In the classroom students have the opportunity to read in a variety of styles. There are times when they read independently, pairs, small groups, and other times they read as a whole class. Regardless of the method of the reading, having kid friendly magazines is a great asset.”

Funded Aug 3, 2021I would like to lead off with a sincere thank you for the selfless generosity you showed towards my class. In the midst of a global pandemic, learning has really been changed and challenged everywhere.
The technology obtained from this project was very beneficial at helping my students increase their academic knowledge while allowing for maximum flexibility. Students at all ages in today's society become excited and gravitate towards technology and my students did just that. Learning their reading and math skills went from a paper pencil monotonous activity to an interactive digital learning experience.”

Mrs. Mendoza
Handheld Technology
Funded May 15, 2021Thank you so much for making this project a success. The Amazon Fire 7 tablets will be going to great use with my students. The Amazon Fire 7 Tablets are small enough for the hands of young and older elementary students alike. My kids will be using the Amazon Fire 7 tablets to complete various online programs. Some of the programs include but are not limited to; myOn Reader, iReady Reading, iReady Math, Imagine Learning, and their student portal.
Through the use of the Amazon Fire 7 tablet and myOn Reader, students will be able to have easy access to hundreds of fiction and non-fiction books. These books will be assigned to the students so that they can read them on the Amazon Fire 7 tablets during differentiated instruction.
My kids are super excited to get their hands on those Amazon Fire 7 tablets.”

Putting The Work in Their Hands
Funded Oct 25, 2020I first want to start by extending my sincere thank you on behalf of myself, my students and my student's families. This school year has been an incredibly challenging one for our school system and families at large. In my particular case, my students are kindergarteners, many of whom have never attended formal school settings.
Our class is virtual and many of my student's do not have access to printers or computers. The district did a great job in providing the laptops or tablets but printer access was still a recurring issue. Although I am cognizant of this fact and very rarely required my students to have a printed page to complete their work, some of the very essential kindergarten skills such as handwriting, tracing, coloring within the lines and cutting and pasting (to name a few) require a printed document. With this new printer, I have been able to print those sheets for my students and then make them available for my parents to pick up from the security personnel at the front of the school prior to the date it is needed.
As you can see from the pictures, this has been very beneficial for my students. We are all super excited! Thank you!”

Kindergarten Was Born to Shine, Even From a Distance!
Funded Aug 25, 2020The materials from this project were wonderful for my class. At the beginning of the school year with all of the uncertainty surrounding the opening of school the materials helped to provide us with something that was consistent. Each morning we start our day with calendar activities even as we work remotely. We discuss yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The calendar also helps us count. We take turns and count chorale each day. We also use the calendar to help us learn what number is greater than or less than another. My students and I are very appreciative of the materials we received.”

Distance Learning and Organization
Funded Jun 2, 2020First, thank you for the generosity. It helped acquire some really cool materials for the students.
During distance learning it became a challenge for some students to complete projects and assignments and let their creativity shine. Some did not have the necessary materials at home.
With the donations I was able to make personal deliveries (from a safe social distance and with proper PPE) to those students in most need of materials. These students were able to creatively end the year and now they have materials available to use throughout the summer months.
Thank you!”

Mrs. Mendoza
Snap and Publish
Funded Jan 21, 2020Technology is an amazing tool for everyone and it's no exception for our students. In schools we use technology in many ways. We use computers to complete research for class projects as well as to complete their digital learning tasks. In addition, we use technology to hold digital class meetings when necessary. Technology really opens a world of opportunity for our students.
The most exciting part of the new products for my students has been the ability to print pictures wirelessly from their device or the class devices. It has made publishing stories very easy. It has also aided quite a bit when they make scientific observations for their interactive notebooks.
If I had to pick any particular students that have warmed up to the new technology it would be nearly impossible. They are all super excited about the new technology. It is wonderful watching them interact with it.”

Mrs. Mendoza
Snap Away!
Funded Apr 17, 2019This project has gotten my students so excited to learn and do projects. Technology plays a large part in today's education. There are programs that students use on computers, laptops, or tablets but these are not the only forms of technology they enjoy using. In my class we also started using cameras to enhance the education experience.
The most exciting part of our new products for my students is the Instax Camera. They love the fact that they can take pictures to accompany their learning and have it instantly print. It's a change from the photos they take on their phones.
Each of my students loves using their new products, the camera, filter, and accessories are all exciting for them. We are all grateful for the donations.”

Funded Oct 8, 2018First and foremost I want to express my sincere gratitude for your generous donations. The laptops that we received have been very influential to my students. Since we received the laptops my students have had the ability to use them daily in class. The students have had the flexibility to move about the classroom and use the flexible seating we have to complete their computer assignments. The most exciting part to my students is that they can take the laptops and move about the classroom to feel comfortable in their learning environment. Technology is an amazing tool that my students can now easily access. Once again thank you for the generosity.”
