I believe that school should be a fun and exciting learning environment. My students love learning, but they often struggle with remaining focused when they are unable to move around or remain focused during learning. We incorporate "Brain and Spark Breaks" throughout the day for our scholar's to move around for small periods of time. Many need help with dealing with anxiety and their inability to keep still during instruction time and projects. These materials will provide opportunities for them to have fun and movement while learning and without disrupting or distracting each other during lessons. My students have strong and bright minds that can grow even stronger than their young minds could ever imagine. It is my desire to stretch them and their minds in a fun, loving, safe, and comfortable learning environment. It would be a lot easier to maintain their attention with various ways of giving "Brain and Spark Breaks", as well as giving them things to hold onto in their hands during instruction. The sensory items will allow the scholars to use their hands with very minimal distraction, which has proven to increase focus in children while learning. The tablets will allow the students to utilize apps and programs that are specifically designed for the needs of children with autism, anxiety, and attention disorders. The document camera will help to hold their attention as I incorporate the strategy of "I do, then you do." All of the materials will provide a chance to increase learning and allow the scholars to learn in various settings. I believe in my scholars and I believe in their need for learning outside of the box!
