Seating that Makes "Cents": Learning Financial Literacy through Choice
Funded Nov 1, 2019Thank you so much for helping to fund my flexible seating project. We use the small table and chair every single day during every period of the day! I am able to use it to pull small groups, and conference with my students one on one. In fact, while we have cooking, this table really helps my class to actually see what is being put into the bowl, since they are tiny first graders!
When my students first saw the table and chair, they went crazy! They were jumping up and down and couldn't wait to be able to use it themselves! "So cool!" and "So tiny!" were just some of the sayings that came out of their mouths in excitement.
We hope to eventually get more chairs to be able to sit at this table because we have found that our kids are so productive when sitting there! So again, thank you so very much for helping to bring this project to fruition. We really appreciate everything!”

Funded Dec 2, 2018The impact you have had on my students is extraordinary. Unfortunately, living in a low income area can lead to many hardships such as not always having clean clothes to wear. With your generous donations towards providing my students and our school with Tide-Pods, their parents are now able to clean their clothes more often without having to think about the financial burden that detergent costs. This is especially helpful to those families of ours who live in shelters.
When my students first saw the materials, they were so confused! "Tide-Pods? What can we do with those?" After explaining to them about hygiene and how important it is to have clean clothes, my children couldn't wait to help their parents do laundry. Each day I hear a new story about how my students used the Tide-Pods with the parents and you can hear the excitement in their voices.”

Funded Dec 22, 2018I would like to thank all of the donors for iConnect to Mathematics! Since my class has received the iPads they are more excited than ever. Each student is assigned a day of the week when they get to use the iPads for math. They always run up to the schedule to see if its their day to use it. When a student is absent and there is a free iPad for the day, forget about it! The kids are jumping up and down with their hands raised to get an extra chance to work on the iPad.
It amazes me how working with technology changes a students outlook on academics. We use the GO MATH app which contains all the same classwork that is in the workbook. The student's who are on the iPads get through twice as much work than the students using a pen and paper. They absolutely love it!
My students are now exposed to all they can be as well as being able to use all resources that they are provided with so they can live to their best potential now and forever - thanks to you!”
