• Music Folders

  Thank you so much for helping us get these reusable and durable plastic music folders for our students. Each year I provide one of these folders to each music student so they can stay organized. This folder stays with them through the years as they have proven to be VERY durable in the hands of middle schoolers.

  These folders are helping bridge this equity gap so that all students start on the same page with the same materials. These folders hold their workbooks, music, fingering charts and anything we use in band or orchestra.

• Cork Grease for Clarinets and Saxes

  Thank you so much for filling up our cork grease drawer! I have not had to buy or fundraise for cork grease since our first year when I got some funded on DC the year we opened. We have gone through all of it and we literally ran out when this project was funded.

  Now we have so much cork grease that will last for at least another 5 years if not more. Thank you for helping us get these materials to bridge equity gaps with our students and their experience in band.

  We now can take care of our woodwind cork properly for years to come!”

• Miscellaneous Percussion

  Thank you for helping us obtain obscure percussion equipment for very specific pieces of music. Having these extra instruments are going to allow us to play more innovative and motivating pieces of music, especially for our percussion students.

  I also really appreciate being able to get a few new pairs of yarn mallets, we have had a very long run with our current yarn mallets, we have had them for 6 years and they are starting to fall apart.

  We appreciate your support always, working at a title 1 school and a small budget makes it hard to make these visions come to life, and without your support we wouldnt be able to. Thank you always.”

• Band Room Chicken Mascot Prizes

  Thank you so much for believing in our vision to have prizes and incentives for Awards Night and Music Game Days!

  These mini chickens are mini versions of our band/orchestra room mascot, Gerald who is so beloved by our students.

  Sending them with a mini Gerald is something most students in my program look forward to and work hard for. Thank you for allowing us to get all of these, they should last for a year or two for our upcoming awards nights.

• Essential Band Supplies

  Thank you so much for helping restock our cork grease, our slide oil for trombones and valve oil. I am so grateful that we were able to get this funded as I am at a title 1 school where over 80% of our student body qualifies for free and reduced lunches. Many of our students struggle to purchase materials to be successful at school. Asking them to purchase these extra supplies is difficult and not supported so I do my best to provide them.

  These materials allow students to care for these instruments so they last for years to come.”
