Time to Learn with Time For Kids!
Funded Feb 12, 2010Thank you so much for your kind donation to our classroom! The Weekly Readers that were purchased with your donation helped my students to dive into non-fiction texts in an easy, exciting and accessible way. My students learned so much about science, history, and geography, which helped to open up conversations and important discussions in our classroom. In addition, nothing can match the excitement of being able to take these Weekly Readers home for a child to share with their families. Through your generous donations, you have helped to make my students better readers, more informed citizens, and encouraged their school-to-home connection!
Weekly Readers are a vital part of any classroom, but extras like that are often over looked in these tough economic times. I urge all of you to continue to donate to projects across the country to outfit classrooms in need with important supplies, just as you have done for me!”

Funded Mar 31, 2010Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful donation to our classroom. The money was used to purchase a listening center, fiction and non-fiction books on CD, and a storage compartment that helps our listening center to stay organized! The listening center quickly became a class favorite, and students often ask to go their during their free time. The books on CD help my student's fluency while reading, as well as give their comprehension skills a boost. It is an invaluable tool to have in an early childhood classroom.
I cannot thank you enough for what you have done for my class. I hope you continue to fund other projects on Donors Choose that will help teachers in need, just like you have helped me!”

Ms. Korn
Time is Money, Money is Time...
Funded Dec 9, 2009I cannot begin to express my thanks in receiving the materials you have so kindly donated to my classroom. In the last few weeks my students have been able to use the fake coins to help them count change, play "supermarket," as well as other money exchange games that have helped them to understand the concept better. They also each have their own clocks now for them to use on a daily basis. We even created our own game using the clocks! My first graders are now telling time with ease, which is so exciting to all of us!
I truly believe that having hands on experiences is vital to the success of the students in my classroom. Without your donation, these hands on experiences would not have happened. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for providing these materials to our classroom!”

Hands-On Math!
Funded Dec 18, 2009I cannot thank you enough for your kind donation to my classroom. The materials that you supplied to my students for math have been invaluable for teaching number sense, especially for my struggling learners. The hands on materials such has snap cubes and counters have really helped take my students to a whole new level of understanding when it comes to mathematical thinking. I have also been able to make a lot of hands on math centers with the materials that were purchased, making it easy for my students to work independently, and allowing me to work in small groups each day.
As you can see from the pictures, opening the boxes of math manipulatives was like Christmas in my classroom! Th kids were so excited. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my classroom, as well as charter schools around the country! ”

Series Books for Independent Readers
Funded Nov 12, 2009I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for donating to this special project! Working at a new school is extremely exciting, but it also has many challenges, especially when it comes to having enough books and supplies to keep my students excited and interested! With the budget short fall this year, we are in need now more than ever! Your donations are invaluable to my student's continued growth and learning.
With your donations, you bought my students over a hundred series books that they will be able to use not only this year in 1st grade, but also through 2nd grade as well. Classics like Henry and Mudge and Poppleton are already big hits among my higher readers! Junie B. Jones is also quickly becoming our favorite character as we read more and more of her books together as a class.
I sincerely hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday season! We look forward to your continued support through Donors Choose!”

I will also be able to to put out more books in the classroom because I actually have bins to put them in!
As a teacher who works in a small start up charter school who has a very limited budget, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to receive these very basic, but very vital supplies. You have all made a wonderful difference in the lives of 24 very deserving first graders!”

Funded Apr 9, 2009I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your kind donation to my classroom. In the last year, charter schools have suffered a significant amount of budget cuts, and even the most basic of supplies like tissues and vacuums were cut. When I requested these supplies, this was long before the swine flu outbreak, but when I received the tissues and the vacuum, we were right in the mist of it all! I was so thankful to have those supplies on hand to fight the flu! Having a clean and safe classroom environment is invaluable to the success of my students, and you provided this for us in more ways than you could ever know.
Thank you so much for your continued support of charter school education. With your help, we are able to provide extremely rich classroom environments for our students!”

I have scanned assessments into the computer and shared work with parents to show improvement. I have also been able to scan books into the computer and print color copies to make our charts bright and easy to read. I will also begin to teach the students how to use the scanner independently as well so they can help me with projects. Thank you again for your support with bringing technology into our classroom!”

Funded Feb 4, 2009Thank you so much for your kind donation! We have begun using the laminator in our classroom and my students have been able to help me with special projects! Our bulletin boards will no longer get ruined easily, and our work looks beautiful! They will now be able to save their writing forever, which means so much to them.
Due to the current economic climate, our school is struggling to get even the most basic supplies. You have given us another reason to hope that we will get everything we need in our classroom! Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.”
