  • Art Room Organization!

    Funded Aug 29, 2024

This has been one of the most useful and NEEDED donations my classroom has ever received! Throughout the years, student artwork has been misplaced time and time again, due to the lack of shelving in my room. These materials have literally changed the game in my class, and we are so thankful!

Not only do I now have the space for all of our projects, but I also can separate each class period from one another, which has resulted in zero lost/misplaced artwork. My students truly value our new organization, as do I.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Khaimova

  • Yarn for Weaving!

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

Thank you dearly for your yarn donations! My students will be using these resources in their upcoming project, and are very excited to learn how to weave! In the meantime, many students have been asking me how to knit/crochet during art club, and it's been a very nice experience for me to be able to share some of the yarn we've received.

Students will be creating their weaving project in the coming weeks, and they will be basing it on an aspect of their cultures. Students will learn how to create patterns with the yarn in order to help them decide what they're able to design for their final weaving.”

  • Clay Supplies!

    Funded Aug 23, 2024

Your kind donations have helped my students tremendously. Throughout this school year, students have asked time and time again for clay supplies, whether it was for a class project, or a personal project, and it has been so relieving to be able to say "I have plenty!"

They were shocked to see just how much clay we received, and have created beautiful narrative plates using these supplies. These pieces are personal to them, and felt very therapeutic to make for many of my students. Many students created artwork relating to family members, friendships, hardships, etc., and it was wonderful to see them express these stories using the supplies we received.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Khaimova

  • Art Classroom Needs!

    Funded Nov 15, 2022

Thank you so much for your kind donations! The majority of our supplies that we received were used to keep our classroom clean and orderly. Our broom, spray bottles and sponges are used on a daily basis, and has helped my students be more independent and more responsible when it comes to cleaning. My students were so happy to see these new supplies, since they were asking for them frequently.

We use our scissors, masking tape, brush holder, and paint palettes are used everyday as well. Prior to this project being funded, students were always waiting for their classmates to be done using our daily supplies, which caused class to go by slower. Now, students know that they don't have to wait for supplies, and are able to get through projects much faster.

Our masking tape will be used for our next project, which will be a paper mache project based on Claes Oldenburg's Floor Burger.”

  • Art Supplies For AGL!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

My students were so pleased to receive these materials for our classroom! They couldn't believe that people were kind enough to donate to us in order to experiment with more art materials. One of the hottest commodities in our room is CLAY, and receiving such a large amount from all of you relieved me from having to limit their use of it.

We use air dry clay frequently, and the clay we received was able to help us practice creating bowls, plates, etc. with a very forgiving clay, before we used a stronger and tougher air dry clay to create our final bowls.

Our next project will be incorporating even more of this clay, as we'll be creating small dioramas of our happy places, and will be needing clay to create objects to include in our small paradises.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Khaimova
