Funded Oct 4, 2016My students use these resources every day. The caddies are used for easy access to supplies such as pens, pencils, and note cards at their table groups. Students use the files to store their completed work so that they can pick out their best works and put together a portfolio at the end of the semester. My students really like the wall hanging folders so if they miss a day (or misplace their work) they know exactly where to find past assignments!
When the boxes arrived, I allowed my students to open them all up. I wish I had taken pictures of this moment. Their faces were lit up like a child on Christmas morning opening gifts! Then they went on to using the large boxes to build things too! We all went through the new supplies and I explained what each item was going to be used for. They all seemed to be excited to use the new school supplies.
Currently, my 6th graders are learning about fossils and my 8th graders are learning about energy. The white boards have come in handy for a quick way to check for understanding by having students write or draw their thinking and show me so I can see who is all on track and who might need some additional support. My next project I would like to put together is to try and get a set of tablets funded for my classroom so that my students can do research right there in our classroom.”
With gratitude,
