  • Write, Paste, Print - Daily Essentials Needed!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you for making this project "Write, Paste, Print - Daily Essentials Needed" a fulfillment. My students and I were elated when our goodies came in. Unpacking these boxes usually gives us the thrills of unpacking a gift with the anxiety of what is in there. Seeing our essentials was everything!

Every material in this project is used every day. The printing papers, not only allow me to print worksheets for them to work on, but allow them to make and design things. Our most recent design was our winter display boards, which I will show you a photo of.

The pencils and the glue sticks are our primary and day-to-day tools. The students love having their own since the concept of being responsible is in play. They want to collect points for being responsible, so daily they ensure their tools are packed away safely. Thank you for making this possible for us.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bowen

  • Low-end Tech Tools for Success!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you for the kindness demonstrated through your giving to funding this project. The headphones are used daily in our classrooms. As students are learning in a digital era, many learning platforms such as Google Classroom, I-Ready, and Study Islands are just a few of them that we use. Each student can listen to the audio with the headphones as they work on the platforms. Additionally, some students in my class need special accommodations, such as read-aloud. Hence, when it comes to testing or one-on-one, students use their headphones, and this need is being catered for.

However, we have not used the clocks because we haven't gotten to that topic yet. Nonetheless, when we get there, the students will be thrilled since they will each have one working with and manipulating it to build understanding. My students are grateful and excited about these resources being at our fingertips in our classroom. Thanks again!”

  • Making Math Meaningful, Memorable, and Merryful!

    Funded Sep 17, 2024

Thank you for your contributions toward fulfilling my "Making Math Meaningful, Memorable, and Merryful" project. My students and I are happy and appreciative of having these materials in our class. It is always a happy moment to pull the boxes and reveal our learning materials.

We created a resource corner for these materials, making them accessible for students to use at appropriate times. We use these materials in structured learning activities as well as downtime-free time activities to reinforce and further discover skills. There was this particular situation where a set of students were playing with the equivalent fraction game. They were in close proximity to me so I could hear their conversations. From the conversation, I heard one explaining to the others the concept of equivalent fractions using the pieces to show her classmates that equivalent fractions are not about equal pieces but covering the same space. That was a remarkable moment. This once again reminded me, of the benefit of allowing students interaction, students do learn from students.”

  • Number Knowledge Is Power!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thanks again for your support in fulfilling this "Number Knowledge is Power" project. My students and I are happy and appreciative of them being in our class. It is usually a joy for them to open the packages to see what the materials are.

Multiplication and division are usually two of the four operations that give students more challenge than the others. So, the multiplication bingo, the math stacks place value game, and the multiplication and division game are in our resource corner and are accessible to the students. Once free, they use them almost daily reinforcing those facts. Students love it when they bingo!

The students love working with the place value boards. In one of our place value lessons, one of my special needs students said, "Miss Bowen, I like this board because it shows me the places and I do not have to draw them myself". Having these pieces in my class helps me to differentiate my activities, provide the visuals to help build conceptual understanding, and bring about fun while learning in my room. Thanks much!”

  • One Tool, Multiple Uses - More Than Just Multiplication!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you for your generosity in fulfilling this project, "One Tool, Multiple Uses—More Than Multiplication." Having the multiplication boards in our classroom has decreased the anxiety and pressure of memorizing multiplication facts. One of the first uses of the board was after a timed activity where students filled in as many multiplication facts as possible, using it, they realized and discovered a variety of ways that they could get their tables. With the boards, they do not have to drag their memory to keep up with the progression of each table but use patterns to discover multiplication and division facts.

Based on our pacing, we will later do other topics such as equivalent fractions, factors, and multiples where we will reuse our boards to help build those skills. This tool, the multiplication board is worth having in the classroom. The students were just as excited as the teacher about them. After all, hands-on and visual aids such as this normally spark students' interest and curiosity.”

  • With One Easel, Information Circulates the Room!

    Funded Jul 3, 2024

Thanks again for your generosity in the fulfillment of this project, "With One Easel, Information Circulates the Room". The materials from this project have been helping greatly with small group and one-on-one instructions. Students are able to share what they know on the easel using the markers. Also, from time to time, I circulate the room with the easel to further explain or demonstrate a concept to my students.

Seeing the unboxing of the materials brought about curiosity and zeal. My kiddos and I appreciate the materials. Furthermore, they love when they get the chance to use the easel. They get to feel like the teacher. Thanks again donors for making this possible.”

  • At Our Fingertips: Print and Shred

    Funded Dec 14, 2022

Thank you for your gift of love and support via your donations and fulfillment of the resources of this project. The cartridge of ink has been a blessing in our classroom as several times I needed to make a print and within seconds, it was done. I did not have to leave them to go to the printing room. The paper shredder has been a time-efficient resource in our room. From time to time, certain private and confidential documents were easily destroyed with the shredder.

Both my students and I were ecstatic when we received our package. They were even the ones to unwrap the package. As the need for our classroom arises, we will continue to create more projects. Thank you again!”

  • Meet With the Teacher Stools!!!

    Funded Sep 12, 2022

Thank you for the kindness demonstrated through your giving to funding this project. The stools are used daily in our classrooms. As students learn at different paces and rates, pulling them in small groups or one-on-one, the seats make it possible for that small group setting. Additionally, it gives me the opportunity to pull aside the students I am working with instead of being in the midst of the other students. Remediation time is yet another time when the stools are used to provide that direct session with students. Thanks again!”

  • Productive Noise: Headphones and Speakers for Learners!

    Funded Aug 31, 2022

Thank you for the kindness demonstrated through your giving to funding this project. The headphones are used daily in our classrooms. As students are learning in a digital era, many learning platforms such as Google Classroom, I-Ready, and Study Islands are just a few of them that we use. Each student can listen to the audio with the headphones as they work on the platforms. The speakers make it easier for the students to listen to inserted audio used in whole group lessons.

Additionally, there are some students in my class with special accommodations such as read-aloud. Hence, when it comes to testing or one-on-one, students use their headphones, and this need is being catered for. Overall, my students are grateful and excited about these resources being at our fingertips in our classroom. Thanks again!”

  • Math Boards - Boarding on to Fluency, Computation & Understanding!

    Funded Apr 17, 2022

With grateful hearts, my 2021-2022 class of students would like to thank you for your support of this project. The math board and the other manipulatives were very beneficial.

I am always excited about math. Hence, that energy quickly rubs off on my students. So, when we got these resources, my students were excited and wanted to use them. While they were intended to be my 2022-2023 students' first math resources, I had to use them with my current students. They were used during the final weeks of school when I was preparing them to take their final end-of-the-grade math tests. I created a station with them to build the momentum, and boy, were they excited to use them. Evidence of rich discussion was heard among students as they evaluated, and analyzed situations after using the tools to solve. Their exam results were also evident of these rich learning experiences.

Your support made this and all the other math projects possible! We thank you and look for your continued support with prospective projects for and in the next school year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bowen

I am requesting desk shields so my students can safely return to face-to-face instruction at school. My students will be transitioning from remote at home learning to face-to-face learning at school. The school district is not providing desk shields to students. This resource will afford my students the opportunity to continue learning and growing in a safe, comfortable environment. Protective desk shields will help prevent the spread of Covid-19 as well as prevent the spread of germs as we move into flu and cold season. These desk shields will be used to help my students safely return to face-to-face instruction at school in January. Any support for this PPE project will be appreciated.
