Flexible seating allows students to foster their needs for learning. Given that my class consists of 12 students of diverse needs as well as consisting of a bridge class of Kindergarten, First grade, and Second grade it is difficult to offer them the same type of learning experiences and in this case the same type of seating arrangements. For example my Kindergarten kids must sit in a chair which allows both feet to be placed on the ground, however if I have the same type of chairs for all my students my Second graders would be severely uncomfortable. "Fair isn't everyone getting the same, fair is everyone getting what they need to be successful". In this case it is as simple as providing them with various seating arrangements to promote their best learning ability. When people are comfortable they are able to focus more on the work presented to them, this is further confirmed when applied to children and even more so when applied to those with disabilities. Please help me, help them be the best version of themselves.
