  • Let's Talk and Build in Preschool

    Funded Dec 20, 2016

Thank you so much for donating to our project, Let's Talk and Build in

Preschool ." These supplies has enrich my students' learning. They were bored with the limited supplies that the classroom had, and needed new material to engage them in their education.

My students love the Creature Builders that were donated. They can build and recreate new creatures for hours. The pieces are bright and colorful and they are easy to hold for my students with fine motor skills delays. The conversation is flowing as competition build as to whom can make the best creature. These creature builders are a new class favorite.

The Storytelling Puppets are phenomenal. My students want to retell the stories over and over again. A few of my students has even used multiple puppets to create new stories adding new characters. Imagine the 3 bears and the big bad wolf. If I had not seen and hear it with my own two ears and my own two eyes, I would have never thought that they could come up with the stories that they have come up with. It's been very exciting.

The manipulative's has helped fine motor skills to emerge and the puppets has entertained, produced new stories and stimulated my students creativity. Your donations truly have helped to get creative and talk and build in preschool. Thanks again.”

    Ms. Jenkins

  • Amazing Preschoolers Need Art Supplies!!!

    Funded Aug 4, 2016

Thank you again so much for funding our project Amazing Preschoolers Need Art Supplies. My students have been in heaven with all the wonderful new art supplies. The new collage materials are a big hit. My preschoolers love the macaroni, jewels and shimmering shapes. They love being able to have their own personal tray so they can choose the art enhancement design of their choice. The clear containers make sorting art supplies a snap. My students are creating and communicating. You should hear them talk about their new creations. We love our new vibrant super bright construction paper. We use it for art, crafts, writing and drawing. We love having colors that pop and I am very happy to be able to give my students these new colorful options. My students are fascinated with art and I am ecstatic that they have these awesome new tools to create memorable crafts. They absolutely love the gem stones; they are sparkly and easy for small fingers to manipulate. A few of the items will be used in the following months. The good thing is will have the material we need to make our art sparkle like sparkly Christmas trees, hearts for Valentine's day and shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day.

My students are so excited to be able to use a variety of amazing art material. They have options in colored paper, collage and art material and a variety of other things. These options have been and will continue to be instrumental in helping them develop their fine motor skills, build language and communication and increase their fine motor skills. Thank you so much for helping me give my students these amazing opportunities and memories. Your help and support is greatly appreciated.”

  • We Love Listening to Stories!

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

Thanks to you, our students with special needs now have stories that are fun to listen to and that are age appropriate. I can already see their improvement in their oral language skills. Your help and support is and will always be greatly appreciated.

Our class is comprised of students ages 3-5 with special needs. At times my little population is over looked because most funds go to grades K-5th. However, my students needs are great and early intervention allows me to give them a head start in learning. Thanks to your generosity, I am able to obtain supplemental material to support their learning. I have used these stories to teach skills in the following areas: fine motor, gross motor, school readiness, self-help skills and social emotional skills. This books support the students speech and language development, sequencing, literacy concepts and phonological awareness. When we received these books, our little learners were all helpers in opening the box and they help arrange them in the storage box. We had a Hip Hip Hood Parade in your honor. They were so enthused to listen to these books we immediately listened to Five Little Monkeys. That's the classroom favorite. All of the students in my class have some speech language delays and it is wonderful to see how they try to sing along with the story. These books and Cd's are a wonderful addition to our class as they promote communication and vocabulary development. Please know that these stories will be lovely cared for and they will be used year after year and will benefit many students in the future.

Again, thank you for all you do for our students. You are a part of their lives too.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jenkins

  • STEMing Imagination In Preschool.

    Funded Jul 20, 2015

I'm overjoyed that my project STEMing Imagination In Preschool was funded. We are so grateful for your generous donation to our class project. It is touching to see that you share my vision for helping students become life long learners. My students have now had the STEM material for a few weeks and material is fantastic. It is almost like magic. The STEM material has helped my students develop skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). First of all, the material is child friendly and is so engaging that my student's eyes just light up when it is STEM time. They rush to help set up the table; they sit down quietly and wait until they can get their cute little hands on the boxes. They are inspiring one another. When one finds a new way to solve a problem, their peers takes note, reproduce the model and then find a new way to recreate it. The skills they are learning now will help them develop into successful 21st century students and future leaders. This project is impacting my student's lives in a positive way. They are sitting and focusing. They are expanding their speech because they are learning new words like weight, balance, buoyancy and more. Each set teaches a new skill and they are fully engaged. The new materials have already made a big difference in my class.

The tools that you have funded have enabled my students to imagine, explore, create, and test boundaries. Sometimes it is hard for them to decide which stem kit to use. They absolutely love the Block Play Stem kit, it is the class favorite. They love building and using the balls to knock the blocks over. The giant roller ramp is a big hit. They love creating new ways to assemble the ramps. There are so many ways that they can assemble and rearrange it that it is almost like having a new project for each use. I cannot truly thank you enough for your support. They have learned to work as a team; they are sharing material and are building good social skills. Their small faces are so intense when they create something new or balance an item that kept sinking. I am sure that what they are learning will impact their creativity for a life time.

Thank you so much. I can't wait to see the long term effects these material will have on their learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jenkins

  • Help Special Needs Preschoolers Grow Through Art

    Funded Feb 8, 2015

Thank you again so much for funding our project Help Special Needs Preschoolers Grow Through Art. My students have been in heaven shaking glitter, painting with the puffy paint, planting, and creating memorable art with all the wonderful new art supplies. The new collage materials are a big hit. My preschoolers love the jewels and when we first set them out they were gluing them everywhere. Those jewels are something special. Not only are they using them for art, but they are counting them, matching the shapes and sorting them. I am amazed. You should hear them talk about their new creations. The puffy paint is also a big hit. It has texture and gives their art height and it shows up beautifully on paper. I am so happy to be able to give my students these options. My students are fascinated with art and I am ecstatic that they have awesome tools for creating them. They absolutely love the glitter shakers. They are learning to write so as a treat for tracing their letter or shapes... now they are able to trace them with glue and shake glitter on them to make their names sparkly. Their names have become works of art. My little students now love looking and touching their displayed art.

I would like to say that the students' favorite items are the collage pots. I would have never expected that these pots would get so much attention. The students loved decorating the collage pots and painting them with the Mod Podge which made them super shiny. But what came after was the most amazing thing ever. They love filling the pots with soil, planting the seeds and watering them. We are now learning the growth cycle of plants. I can not wait to see their expressions when their flowers begin to bloom. They look inside their planters every day looking for changes. I have to admit that I am excited too. Thank you so much for helping me give my students these opportunities and memories. Your help and support is greatly appreciated.”

  • Pre-K Students With Special Needs Benefit From IPad

    Funded Jan 21, 2015

The iPad and the protective case has arrived and my preschoolers went bananas! They helped open the shipping boxes, peel of the plastic wraps, helped open the iPad box ( fine motor skills) and slide the iPad into the protective case. When it was all set up, OOOHHH AHHHHH was all I heard (that might have been just me). They were all so eager to play on it. The students took turns right away swiping and we all typed our names.

This is a new experience for most of my students. An iPad is not something that is a common item in their home. Watching them use the touch screen for the first time gave me the opportunity to giggle :-)......little fingers everywhere, priceless! It's so amazing to see how quick some of my students are able to navigate it. Since its arrival, I have been able to use the iPad as a tool to reinforce literary skills, counting, language building and as an instrument. It really is amazing. Also, I have been able to use it as an incentive to get my little students to sing louder (the loudest singer gets to use the iPad first). This has really encouraged my students that don't like to talk to be more vocal.

The most amazing part of this new discovery for my class has been for my students with limited mobility. I have been able to place the iPad directly on their lap trays and they are just amazed at this little tablet that can do so many things. They are reaching for the pictures. Smiling during songs. They are simply put, happy. What greater word is there in the life of a child? I am so happy that my students are able to have access to an iPad. My hat is off to you. My gratitude is overwhelming. Thank you so much for helping me provide this opportunity for my students. They are our future! I can guarantee you one thing, you have enriched their education this school year...THANK YOU!!!”

  • Special Needs Preschoolers Need a Clean Comfy Carpet

    Funded Jan 26, 2015

The carpet has arrived and it is absolutely beautiful. My students were so excited that one of my precious preschoolers could not wait to unroll it and decided to see if she could take a ride on it. We all unrolled our brand new carpet on the floor together as a class. It it so bright and colorful. A few of my students began counting the numbers right away and next thing I knew, they had number cards and started matching numbers.

We are so grateful to have a new carpet we can use every day! Our new carpet is great for our floor activities because students can read, build, dance and play on it. It is also fantastic for our circle time activities. The students can sit directly on the carpet because it is so soft and clean. I have been able to use it to reinforce concepts that the students are learning through out the day by having the students find the "O" or the "5" and an array of other concepts. It's so nice to be able to do this and the students are thrilled to find them.

Having a nice big comfy carpet has advanced my teaching and has made for more student engagement because now we are able to do more kinesthetic activities during our whole group lessons including using our bodies to make alphabets. This activity is more fun than playing the game Twister. The design of our new carpet is perfect because it has allowed us to play many games including marching around the alphabet. You would have to see it to believe it but they are more engaged now.

Thank you all so much for your generosity and for giving my students a better learning environment. It would not have been possible without you!”

  • Music Matter: Help Special Ed Pre-K Get Their Groove Back

    Funded Sep 15, 2014

Thank you for helping my students get their groove back. My students love the new collection of music we now have. It is so awesome hearing them sing the new songs. They now have many new favorites. They music is so upbeat that the students are singing and dancing during every circle time and at music and movement time. It makes me smile just picturing their small bright happy faces. They have been able to learn and practice basic academic skills such as listening and following directions, letter recognition and counting through music. Music has truly enhanced our classroom by making learning interactive. The best part is that even my non ambulatory students are having just as much fun as everyone else. They have a new groove that is priceless.

We absolutely love the Jack Hartmann's collection. It has so many songs that the students love. We use them every day. We use the Cd's to practice a multitude of skills including: alphabets, counting, hand eye coordination, shape recognition and many other skills. The students are expanding their vocabulary while singing and dancing away. Your support is awesome. Thank you so much for helping my students get their groove back and for helping the beat go on with Cd's that do not skip.”

  • Pre-k Special Needs Students Will Benefit From Art Supplies

    Funded Sep 19, 2014

Thank you for your generous donations to our classroom. My students have been using the new materials from the moment they arrived. Since I was able to order a variety of different art supplies, I have been introducing them to the students gradually.

I would say that one of the students' favorite the play dough. They help lay out the mats, then they choose their favorite play dough color and get busy creating and recreating whatever that's in their hearts to create. The dough rollers are a big hit, the students love all of the interesting lines that they make. The colorful paper is beautiful and form sheets are easy to work with and by it being textured, it is easy for small fingers to pick up . All of the students love the wiggle eyes, sequins and pom pom's. Having these items have been an awesome asset to our art time. The students are developing their fine motor skills with each and every project they complete.

Thank you all so very much for your support. I know that these materials will help develop creative thinking in many young minds.”

  • Prek Students With Special Needs Benefit From Hands On Toys

    Funded Sep 15, 2014

I would like to say thank you so very much for your kind donation to my preschool program. You have given all my students the opportunity to enjoy hands on learning and playing. We have only had the material for a few days and the new toys have already made a positive impact in my classroom. One of my students with autism, rarely touches or plays with any of the classroom material and now he has taken an interest in a few of the new toys. Not only has he began playing with him, he has allowed my assistant and I in to his world to play with him for a few minutes. Another awesome impact that the material you donated has had on my class, is that my students with mobility and range delays now is able to play. What a joy it is to see my little ones smiling and reaching for a toy and being able to play with it independently. The new musically instruments are light and they easily fit into their small hands. I am so excited about the long term impact these toys are going to have in the lives of my students. I can't say thank you enough.

Your generous donation has my preschoolers excited about facilitated play time. They all want to choose their favorite toy first. So socialization is at a all time high. Not only are these toys hands on, they also engaging. My preschoolers are not jumping from toy to toy, they are staying engaged and playing with their new favorite toy for extended periods, thus helping them meet their individual goals. While my students play with the new material, they are learning numbers, colors, shapes and letters and an array or other concepts.

Without people like you my preschool students with special needs would not be able to enjoy these materials which will help them develop important school readiness skills. Once again thank you for your support.”
