  • Healthy at School

    Funded Oct 26, 2024

Thanks to this project we have had hand sanitizer in our classroom to help keep us healthy. Students have been able to use hand sanitizer when the return from the restroom or on their way to lunch. We have not had any delay in keeping the dispensers stocked which has been truly amazing. Finally, and probably the most important is that with the dispenser bags we have very little to no waste. Students do not just pump hand sanitizer onto the counter or take it back to their seat to clean their desks. Again, thank you so much for supporting my classroom and helping with our classroom needs.”

  • So Fresh

    Funded Mar 6, 2024

Every year we have experienced the beginning of the year stink with the high temperatures outside and new middle school students. It has been really amazing being able to have deodorant to pass out to students when they forget to use it, or when they don't have any at home.

The neutral scent means that we have some that works for both boys and girls. It is small enough for them to keep in their pocket or in their binder and use after lunch quickly. I will definitely be posting this project again to help with body odor for future students, but in the meantime we all appreciate not being the smelly class.”

  • Listen Up!

    Funded Mar 17, 2024

It used to be so frustrating, we would be ready to see how much progress the students have made towards our goals and then... we would not have enough headphones. We would have to stop and reach out to other classes to borrow the headphones that we needed. With this project being funded we were able to replace all of the missing and broken headphones. Now we have enough headphones for everyone to have a pair. We no longer have to spend class time tracking down the resources we need to be successful.”

  • Clean and Tidy

    Funded Mar 17, 2024

I truly and sincerely appreciate all of your support with my project. My students have really appreciated having the cleaning supplies they need. This has been a sniffly start to the school year and we have already gone through several boxes of tissue.

I have several students who really enjoy working at a clean work station and they are able to use the materials we have to clean their table each day.

It is a bonus that we are able to also use cleaning supplies that smell good. I think our students will be lifelong happy cleaners thanks to you.”

  • Speak Up!

    Funded Sep 7, 2023

We have been able to successfully utilize all of the items from this Donors Choose project! We used the walkie talkies most recently at our Family BINGO night and we were able to read off numbers to the BINGO callers through the walkie talkies it made the experience so efficient and smooth. The microphones and cords have been used at every event since we received them. It makes such a huge difference to have working equipment and the ability to speak to the crowd during a festival or movie night. We even have some distance that the cord can travel, so we don't have to run up on the stage each time to talk, we could take the microphones with us if needed.”

  • Testing Our Focus

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

Having testing dividers really has been a great addition to our classroom. We don't always need privacy, but when we do they are the perfect size for our tables. All of the students have really appreciated how easy they are to setup and take down. They store easily on our counter out of the way when we are not using them. Ultimately, they are the perfect tool for the job and all of our students love having them as a resource. As a teacher of middle school students I cannot say enough about the quality and durability.”

  • Staple and Sharpen

    Funded Oct 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your support of our classroom. My students have really appreciated having the materials that we need in order to better participate in class. They have been using all 3 pencil sharpeners, but especially appreciate the one that automatically sharpens the pencil for them. I would highly recommend it to everyone since that means the students are not taking forever to return to their seats for learning. Having multiple staplers in the classroom has also been great. It is amazing to be able to count on your support to make sure we have the materials we need.”

  • Clean and Tidy

    Funded May 9, 2023

It is such an amazing feeling starting off the school year this year with cleaning supplies for my classroom. Students will be able to help keep our classroom "clean and tidy" during the school day. I don't know how many times I say "kleenex are not for wiping tables" so it will especially support my mental health during the day by having the cleaning supplies that are appropriate for the job.

Again, I know how many teachers there are that have projects that you could support and you chose me! Thank you!”

  • Chromebooks Help Students to be Successful

    Funded Dec 7, 2022

Today is the perfect day to let you know how amazing it is to have chromebooks as a backup for students to use throughout the day. Today we had 7th grade students split to our classroom because their teacher was absent. Normally I have a few students who need to use a portable charger because they forgot to charge their iPad, but usually only 1 student who needs to regularly borrow a chromebook. Today, I had all 4 of my chromebooks in use because the 7th graders did not have their devices. It made my classroom more manageable because the 7th graders were still on task. I really appreciate that we have these as a resource to use in my classroom.”

My students live in a low income area, and because of that I am always on the look out for opportunities to open their eyes to science and math in the world around them. I love seeing the reactions on their faces when they realize that water goes through a process to be cleaned and reused again. I love when students can build something and explain why it works.
