Why whiteboard tabletops, you ask? My students love using the mini whiteboards whenever possible in class. It's just one way we can get out of our workbooks and math notebooks. These markerboard top tables would be a great addition to our classroom. The whiteboards help students stay engaged and excited about their learning! My students would be able to not only share their own thinking, but they would be able to see their classmate's thinking too! This would provide the students the perfect opportunities to practice using their academic language with their peers as well. In addition to sharing their thoughts with their peers, I will also be able to see their thinking. My students would be able to work at their space and visit other work spaces to see other's work. These tables would not only be used in math, but in all other academic areas as well. Who doesn't love writing on things you can't normally write on? My students would stay engaged in new skills they're learning because they're doing it in a fun way. Teaching and learning is very different than it once was. I want to get away from the traditional sit down-listen-take notes kind of learning, as this doesn't work for all students. I ask that you put yourself in the students' shoes. Wouldn't you love to "graffiti" while you work? I know I would! These tables would make such a huge difference in my student's learning career.
