  • Inspiring Students with Today's Technology

    Funded Jan 26, 2012

I wanted to thank you for your very kind donation. Your generosity has made an impact on my students' lives and has made an immediate difference. I have been able to use the iPad to show educational videos on money, the human body, holidays, and much more. The students are engaged while watching these videos and gather new knowledge through all the visuals and vocabulary words.

The iPad has also been beneficial in the middle of several vocabulary lessons. There is so much explaining I can do for a new word being introduced but as soon as I show them a picture on the iPad, they go from a confused look to having great big smiles on their faces. I guess you can say "a picture is worth a thousand words."

Again, many thanks for your support. Your help has made a huge contribution and will continue to do so in the years to come. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. D'Abreau

  • Students in Need of Homework Supplies

    Funded Dec 26, 2007

Thank you so much for generosity. My students and their family are going to be excited to receive a set of materials for homework to have at home. Just recently I had a couple students telling me they didn't have scissors or crayons at home to complete one of their homework assignments and I had to provide them with it. So, I am grateful for your contribution in assisting my students with all the homework materials needed”

  • "Teacher, Where Should I Sit?"

    Funded Oct 5, 2007

Thank you so much for giving my students the opportunity to receive this donation. They are so eager to sit on their brand new rug and I am eager for the students to finally know what their boundaries are during rug time. I know this is going to make everyone happy”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. D'Abreau

  • Capture Learning Through Gardening

    Funded Apr 3, 2007

Thank you so much for funding these gardening materials for my students. My students have been anxiously awaiting for a response. This is going to be a great opportunity for them to have a hands-on experience with learning about the parts of a flower, gardening, and insects that are helpful to gardens. I truly appreciate your support in education. These materials will not only be used in my class, but with other first grade students as well. Thank you for your generosity”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. D'Abreau

I teach enthusiastic first graders at an economically challenged school. Most of my students come from predominantly Spanish speaking homes and lack resources. With all these budget cuts, my school lacks resources as well. My goal is to work around these obstacles and strive to academically reach each individual that walks through my door.
