  • Exploring Mindfulness

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thanks for your kind donation! The cozy corner has become a class favorite thanks to the items you donated! My students absolutely love the mat and the sensory materials! The cozy center helps my students with self-regulation and to be reflective when they are having difficult days!

My students were elated when I opened up our mindfulness mat! They were even more excited when we engaged in the breathing exercises! We will continue to our mindfulness mat and cozy area daily! The sensory toys help my students with self-regulation! We appreciate your generous donation! Thanks for making a difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. D.

  • Promoting Literacy Through Centers

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation! As a result of your generous donation my students have been able to engage in differentiated small group instruction during literacy. They have the opportunity to explore various games that support their reading skills!

My students were so excited when the boxes arrived and were eager to learn how we got the items donated! They found the games very engaging and look forward to our literacy time!

My students have learned more sight words and developed their reading skills. The games provided visual and kinesthetic opportunities for students to learn how to read and form words! We are so appreciative!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. D.

  • Student Engagement!

    Funded May 20, 2021

Thanks for your support in purchasing an i-pad. The i-pad increased student engagement by providing me with the opportunity to see all my students on one screen during remote learning. Being able to see all my students on my screen increases student participation during the discussion, as I was able to track who had their camera on and call on my students to participate. My students are now using the i-pad during math and literacy centers to complete virtual activities and assessments. Thanks for your donation and for impacting our classroom!”

  • We Love to Read

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thanks for your generous donation! My students are enjoying their chapter books. During the pandemic, these books encouraged my students to experience reading books and maintaining a balance between reading books online. As students read their chapter books they increased their reading stamina and comprehension.

In addition, students were able to use the chapter books to participate in book clubs. The reading book club met on a weekly basis and students read and discussed the chapters read with their group members. I supported students with creating roles within their groups and the graphic organizers provided them with prompts to discuss during their time together.”

    With gratitude,

  • Hands-on Learning

    Funded Dec 29, 2020

My students and I are very thankful for your generous donation! My students were able to manipulate word cards to work on phonics development. One of the tasks they engaged in was pointing to each letter sound on the card and then sliding their finger on the arrow to blend the sounds. The cards also included a visual for additional support. The file dividers were used to create a space for students to organize their folders. This was extremely helpful as we attempted to maintain social distance in the classroom and keep all the materials in a separate place.

Thanks for your support! You have helped make our student's experience so much better!”

    With gratitude,

  • Dual Language

    Funded Dec 30, 2019

Thank you so much for your donation. Although our year was cut short for in-person learning due to COVID-19 our students had the opportunity to explore the resources donated during the months of January, February, and March. Students used the Spanish mats to play learning games in small groups. Students practiced Spanish sight words, letter/sounds, and formed their own words with the alphabet cards. The listening center was a hit and it's something we will continue to use in the future! Students enjoyed gathering in small groups to listen to their favorite stories!

    Thanks for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

  • !Leer es Poder! (Reading is Power!)

    Funded Oct 22, 2012

Thank you very much for the generous donation! My students are thrilled with the books, their favorite books are the ones with the CD read aloud because they get to listen to their favorite stories over and over again.

These books have impacted my students and classroom in numerous ways! My students now have their favorite read-aloud on Cd's and they get to listen to the stories in their native language! They are constantly asking to listen to the stories again "Vamos a leerlo otra vez". Another way that your generous donation has impacted my students is that now they have the opportunity to use the alphabet books to learn new vocabulary words. They also get to read the books independently because of the repeated pattern & very simple text!

Thank you very much for changing the reading experience for my students !”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. D.
