My First Graders Love to Read
Funded Sep 18, 2024Thank you for your kindness and generosity, which allowed my students to access books for independent reading. The " I Can Read" series is ideally suited to assist my first graders in progressing to chapter books. This series effectively boosts their confidence as they engage with the material.
As you could tell from the photographs, the children were very excited to be reading these books. Since there were multiple copies of each book, the children could borrow books to practice at home and share with their families. Witnessing their enthusiasm for these books and the joy reflected in their smiles is truly rewarding.
Thank you so much for your support with this project.”

Funded May 3, 2022My students are overjoyed with the new Lego materials. It is now one of the most loved centers in the classroom. It is wonderful to see their creativity soar with their very active imaginations. I see beautifully designed building structures, robots, and animals built by very excited kindergarteners.
It is great to see my little ones work together as a team to figure out how to make their visions come to light. I know these Lego materials will be used and enjoyed by many kindergarteners in the future.
Thank you all so much for giving this amazing gift to my class.”

Kindergarteners Need a Working Computer!
Funded Dec 1, 2021Your generous donations have made this very difficult year easier. The Macbook Air allows me to set up groups of students to practice their phonics and reading readiness skills independently.
It helps so much to have a functional working computer to get work done in a timely fashion and to be able to provide support to some of my students who need a little extra boost.
Thanks to your support, I am now better able to pivot to remote learning when necessary.
Your generosity is much appreciated. Thank you for your continued support.”

Funded Oct 24, 2019Thank you so much for supporting my kindergarteners creativity!
My students enjoy using the stencils to create and design beautiful art work. They especially love using the Dot Art to create their own unique pictures.
The construction paper and markers are used for independent and group projects - lots of cards and drawings for their friends. Thank you for making my art center a sought after destination in the classroom.
Lastly, my sweet students are really enjoying having access to materials that enable them to be as creative as they wish!”

Reading is a Hoot!!
Funded Oct 24, 2014The listening center is a huge hit in my classroom! It is now one of the favorite places to be right now. My little ones are able to hear some of their favorite books independently -- as many times as they want. My ELLs are able to participate and contribute during story discussions more now. I can see and feel how much more confident they are about sharing details in the books because they have had the opportunity to listen to the books on CDs multiple times.
You helped make my students happy and excited about reading! It has been wonderful watching these children read together and make discoveries to support their evolving development of concepts of print.
Thanks for supporting this project donors.”

Funded Feb 22, 2013I can't thank you enough!! Your generous donations helped to bring an iPad into my classroom. My students are very excited about the iPad. They play phonics games, practice handwriting, read stories and play math games. Who would have known that learning could be so much fun?
In addition, the children have been working wonderfully in partnerships, taking turns and supporting each other along the way.
In this time of severe budget cuts, I am grateful to the donors and Donors Choose for making the wonderful experience my students are having with the iPad a possibility.”

Hands-On Fun!!
Funded Feb 22, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class! Your kindness enabled our class to have much needed "hands-on" materials that the children could use independently and in small groups.
They love using the math manipulative to reinforce the concept of quantity and the dry erase number activity book to practice writing numerals. This is now an enjoyable past-time for them.
Also, my students enjoy using the literacy centers to practice and reinforce their phonics skills and writing stories. Lastly, the children especially love the play dough toys; they come up with many interesting, fun creations that they happily share with their classmates.
Thanks again, donors, for your generosity! I now have the opportunity to work with students who really need assistance while knowing the other students are happily engaged.”

Ms. Nelson
