We Learn Through our Senses!
Funded Dec 1, 2015Thank you very much for your kind donations to fund this very important project for my classroom. My students absolutely LOVE the new sensory bins. So far we have used them in multiple situations in the classroom. The letter bin has been great for students to learn to differentiate the letters, name them, and sort them. The number bin has been great for the students to identify the numbers and learn to count out objects for that number. The shape bin is wonderful for students to identify the basic shapes and sort them. The kids also love using the bins as a sensory tool to just touch and feel. It has helped them calm down in multiple situations. We have also used the bins to learn about our sense of touch by using the different textures in the bins. The number pegs have been a life saver teaching my students to count out of a set for a specific number.
I am so grateful to have these new materials in the classroom and I look forward to using them on a daily basis in the classroom!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Google.org and 3 other donors.Help Us Get Interactive!
Funded Aug 21, 2015Thank you all so much for your kind donations for this very important project. My students absolutely love having a tablet available to them in the classroom. We utilize the tablet everyday for many different tasks. During the school day, I am able to play classical music through the tablet to keep on in the background. The music helps the students calm down and focus during lessons. During morning meeting, I readily have songs available to play for the students to learn the months, days of the week, and the weather. The students love selecting the songs on the tablet. During Literacy, the students utilize an application called, "First School" in which they are learning to identify the letters as well as write the letters. The students absolutely love "playing" on the tablet throughout the day. Since many of my students are not verbal, I am able to use applications that are voice output to help them gain what they need, want, or have something they want to say. Having the tablet has been a life changer for my students. I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to complete this project for my students.”

Help Us Organize Our Library!
Funded Jan 29, 2014I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your generosity in supporting our project. Your support has brought us a bookshelf that has changed our classroom library for the better.
The new bookshelf has helped organize our classroom library. My students are able to easily find the books that they want to read, put them neatly away, and keep them motivated to read a good book.
On the day the bookshelf arrived, my students anxiously awaited for me to open up the box. They eagerly helped me take the books out of the unorganized bins that they were in and helped place them in the new bookshelf. This shelf has opened up a whole new world or reading for my students.
Thank you all once again for your support in this wonderful project for my classroom.”

Help Us Learn To Read!
Funded Feb 14, 2013I want to thank everyone for their generous donations for my classroom project, "Help Us Learn To Read." My students and I are so grateful to have a new and individualized reading program to use in our classroom, Edmark Reading.
With the materials we received some of my students that were struggling to read are now beginning to read and are very excited to be reading. The joy and excitement on their faces as they are reading is priceless. Parents of students using the program have come to me and said, "My child is reading!" They are not only learning to decode words, but they are also comprehending what they are reading.
I am so thankful for everyone's generosity in making this project a reality! Thank you once again.”

Multi-Sensory Learning
Funded Apr 25, 2012My students and I are so grateful of the kindness of such nice people. The materials that we received are helping my students to read sight words in a more sensory based approach as well as write letters and build sentences. They really enjoy using hands on materials as it helps them learn the material easier.
I appreciate all of the dedication and gratitude from people like you to help support the eduction of my students. I love when a smile comes to their faces when it is time to read and write.
Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart!”

Sensory Integration for Students with Autism
Funded Feb 22, 2012This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation. I am eternally grateful for your kindness.
Your donation has helped my students increase their time on task with the materials that were provided. My students all love the weighted lap pads which help them to remain seated in their chair or on the carpet for longer periods of time. My students have been requesting them constantly. All of the materials are a great addition to increase sensory integration into my classroom.
The wooden blocks set has increased social skills within the classroom. My students are learning to work together and share materials. It is wonderful to see all of my students interacting with one another.
Thank you once again for your donation. The materials are being put to good use and my students are very happy and excited to use them everyday! We all appreciate your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. JABLOW
