Everyone Deserves a Seat...
Funded Mar 27, 2018What warms the heart of a teacher is the feeling of knowing you have touched the lives of your students. It's knowing that you've made their day better, just by caring about who they are as people and where they will go in life.
When we received your gracious donation, we were overcome with gratitude. I was elated to share the news with my students, who knew about this project in great detail. When the day finally arrived to show my students the fruits of your donation, I knew it would touch their lives and teach them that kindness lives in us all. They cheered as we brought each desk in one by one, and took extra special care to keep them in pristine condition.
Your generosity has greatly impacted the effectiveness of my students on a daily basis. From the moment my students began working at their new desks they were overcome with how comfortable they felt.
Before receiving your donation, our students found it difficult to work in groups and navigate their learning environment. It also challenged myself and my co-teacher to create a classroom environment that fostered peer collaboration and student-facilitated learning.
Now, students are able to collaborate with one another in a fun way that benefits both them as learners and me as their teacher. Our classroom has become an epicenter for creativity and student fostered learning. From our pictures you will see students hard at work writing, socializing and using manipulatives during math.
As we begin a new school year, it truly excites us all knowing we are able to facilitate fun and rigorous learning designed for the needs of our students as a result of your donation. We plan to launch student-centered learning in the areas of Math, Science and Social Studies; with the main goal for students to be the facilitators of their own learning. Having received your generous donation helps us to launch this new initiative in our classroom. It allows us to help students learn to navigate their classroom environment with ease and to be able to seek choice in their learning experiences.
Thanking you again for your contribution and support to our school community!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Grimm
