Lions, Tigers, and Desk Pets! Oh My!
Funded Nov 10, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. My kids are SO excited to get desk pets for their desks! They are going to learn responsibility, budgeting and how to take care of a "pet".
They have been saving their money up for weeks! They are going to be so happy to hear they are on the way!”

Funded Jan 1, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation of food for our classroom. Our students have loved to have options each day for snack and we have loved sharing and trying different foods!
Many of my students have food insecurities, so I am glad to give them a place where they know they can be fed if they are hungry. This is because of you! Your generosity has given students peace of mind while at school.
Thank you so much again for being so generous and giving to my students. We are all so grateful for you and your donation.”

Funded Apr 6, 2021Each time I get a project funded on Donors Choose, I am blown away by the generosity of donors. You all are truly making the world a better place one classroom at a time.
Our VersaTiles have been put to work already in our stations. The students love to be able to solve problems then check their answers by just flipping over the case! It is truly an independent station and the students LOVE them! They are also very easy to clean, which is wonderful in these COVID times.
Thank you so much for helping my students grow and reach their learning targets. We are so incredibly grateful for people like you. The world is a brighter, more happy place because of you. My classroom is a more fun place while building student independence because of you. Thank you!”

Funded Aug 16, 2021I say time and time again how blown away I am from your generosity and willingness to give to my classroom and students. My students were so excited when the boxes arrived. They did not know that I had made a project to give them an opportunity to take home our class books! They are so happy!
My students will now be able to share their favorite books with their families and practice reading them at home. They will also be able to practice responsibility by taking care of our books and bringing them back to school every week. Students will also have a "library bag" where they will transport their books safely back and forth to school.
I am so excited to have my students help me sort our books so they get practice identifying types of books and being able to see first hand some of the choices they will be able to bring home. They are going to be so happy to use the scanner to track their books and to return them each week.
Again, thank you so much for truly making my classroom its own little community. We are soon going to have our own functioning library! YAY!”

Funded Mar 3, 2021Thank you so much for the Bob Books and Versa Tiles! My students LOVE THEM! We love using them in small groups and in our station time. During COVID times, these Versa Tiles are great because they can be sterilized easily without damage to the pieces.
My students are loving the decodable books to read and are feeling so successful while reading. We have another project to help build our decodable readers so every student has access to them. They truly love reading them and having success with them at their seats.
Thank you so much for your generosity in my classroom. It does not go unnoticed. I am forever grateful for donors like you who are truly making my classroom and my students lives better! :)”

Wobble, Wobble Into Learning - Part 2!
Funded Sep 18, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation of stools to my classroom. Because of COVID, we are forced to stay in our areas all day. Having these stools have given students an option to get some movement out while they are working at their desks.
Because of your donation, I have enough stools for every one of my 12 in person students. That is amazing. They love having their stools and having them throughout the day. I notice a difference with them when they are able to move around while completing independent work.
Without your donation, I know my kids would be having a harder time staying focused while working. These are amazing and give them such freedom and independence to make their own choices while sitting and working.
Thank you!”

Funded Jun 24, 2020Thank you so much for the generous donations for us to get our reading supplies to help us grow! It was tough for us to use them due to COVID, but now that we are back in person, we have enjoyed having these materials!
We love using our class set of letter tiles during whole group word building and during our small group time. They are so great to keep at our desks so we can practice independently, or bring them to teacher table. We have loved using our magnetic tiles during small group and being able to shine lights underneath and watch the words glow while we are blending!
Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. With COVID and everything going on, I love to feel the love and support I have from the community.”

Funded Sep 27, 2019Thank you so much for donating to my project for Communication Folders! My students LOVE having these folders to take all their work back and forth to school each day! It is wonderful for parents to have a safe spot to send notes back and forth from home to school.
These folders have provided a safe place for the art they create to make it home. Students have taken care of these folders and have a sense of pride when they use them!
Having these folders have given students a sense of responsibility and ownership. They are doing great bringing them back and forth to school each week.
Thank you so much again for your generous donation! We love having special people like you in our lives!”

Funded Aug 14, 2019Thank you so much for your generosity to myself and my students. I am beyond grateful of the support I continue to receive from this community, my family and my friends. My students were very excited to see and receive their stools!
Right now, the stools are at my teacher table so that each student is able to use the stools during small group time. I am continuing to try and build a class set of stools so students are all able to have these at their seats. I notice that when working with students at my teacher table, that they are more focused and ready to learn. They love to move their bodies while reading and working on math.
Currently, I have another project up for another set of stools. My goal is to have my entire class to have a stool of their own! I am so happy with the excitement and love my students have for these stools!
Thank you again!”

Help Us Protect Our Surface Go!
Funded Mar 1, 2019As always, I am filled with gratitude with the support I receive from donors. Thank you so much for providing adequate protection for our Surface Go! With your help, we were able to get multiple screen protectors, a keyboard and a soft case for storage.
Because we are a kindergarten class, we are not as aware of how gentle and careful we have to be with our technology. Having all the necessary items to protect our Surface Go, has made me more comfortable to allow students to use independently.
Students are also getting to practice using an actual keyboard versus a touchscreen. Since most technology is touchscreen these days, having this keyboard has really helped them learn their way around the keyboard.
Thank you again for all your support to our classroom. I am blessed and grateful to have you all!
At the moment, we have a project up for a morning work bundle and accessories to help activate our brains in the mornings! Please feel free to check it out!”

Mrs. Scalf
