The number one most important aspect of teaching is creating a safe learning environment for students. My students come from a low-income area where they are well accustomed to the fight or flight instinct. My hope is to use the supplies donated to create an environment that my students will feel safe in. The brightly colored chairs and decorations were picked with the intention of creating a cheerful atmosphere. The electronic doorbell will be used to garner the attention of my students without having to raise my voice. This will be helpful for students whose trigger may be loud noises. The pencils will be put into small boxes of supplies that will be sent back with the students for home use. I fully believe that every student deserves to have a safe place to learn and grow. Thank you for helping to make my classroom that safe place. Thank you for your interest in this project!
