  • "Soar Into Literacy and Imagery With Peter Pan in Neverland"

    Funded Mar 9, 2020

On behalf of my scholars and myself, we want to thank everyone who gave a generous monetary donation and supported the project. Wow, the timing is just right because the special materials will arrive when my scholars are pursuing their journey of reading about Neverland and the interesting characters in the story Peter Pan.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howard

  • Happy New Year and Hooray for School Supplies

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

My scholars and I would like to thank you for your donations. Also, we truly appreciate the amazing supplies such as the pencils, crayons, markers, dry erase markers, construction paper, notebooks and etc. One student said,"The most favorite item was the boxes of pencils because they have sharp points, clean erasers, and sometimes it seems like they are gobbled up."

Not only did I screamed and grabbed my cell phone to call my mother about the great news, when I made the announcement that our project was funded my scholars began to dance and sing around the classroom. It was breathtaking to see the students' smiles and energy in the room.

My scholars used their crayons, construction paper, pencils, and notebooks to learn about countries, continents, and mapping skills. One activity in particular was creating various maps. Our next unit of study is "All About Frogs." Lookout for my next project.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howard

  • Click, Listen, and Learn! Technology is the Way to Go!

    Funded Aug 23, 2016

    Dear Donors,

On behalf of my students and myself, I want to thank you again for your donations to my project. You have made it possible for me to provide my students the opportunity to use regularly technology. They look forward to building their reading and computation abilities. For example, the use of the tablets allows students to be focus on their learning in an up and close way. They listen to and read stories as well as answer comprehension questions in a relaxed manner.

After surveying my students' engagement when using technology in the classroom, I can say definitely that they are excited. For example, they are eager to operate the learning tool as well as put down the "paper and pencil."

Also, they enjoy the visual and audio features that are provided by various programs such as Brain Pop, Cool Math Games, Starfall, and MyOn.

Although, all of my students are ecstatic to have and use the tablets, I believe the ELLs and struggling learners truly are thrilled. Simply, they have a personal device that helps them improve their learning. For example, they do not have to be concern solely about relying on their classmates and teacher to help them to learn. It is these reasons why I continue to find ways to empower my students to develop into active learners.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howard

Well, my new third grade scholars are a diverse talented group. Needless to say, there are approximately thirty students who have different learning styles based on their multiple intelligences. The additional supplies in the classroom, will assist the students in need of daily school resources. Also, all the students would be prepared to explore learning without feeling inadequate because of the lack of materials. Kicking off the school year with most or all of the necessities is awesome and a prerequsite for improvement and success in school.
