Students have the opportunity to learn more when they engage with one another. Some students are not able to grasp concepts all the time on their own. With tables, when they work together and talk out the problem, struggling students will be able to find themselves in the middle of an AH HA moment! Students who aren't struggling then have the ability to help their peers, which is beneficial to their social growth.
These tables will provide my students with the space they need to collaborate with their peers and learn to compromise as they work together using manipulatives. They will not only provide work space, but they will also help maintain a cleaner and more organized classroom!
Having tables in the classroom can potentially help lead students toward becoming more successful. Their increased success will then build confidence and their increased confidence will contribute to their growing appetite for learning!
