My students have to be the most energetic, enthusiastic, curious students that have ever walked on the face of this planet. They love science and always remind me of it when they constantly ask, "When are we going to do science?" Our school is one of the "most effective" schools in the California school system but our budget has been cut so we are forced to raise money for our projects. Our school is a public school with a variety of culturally diverse students. Our students are extremely motivated by the highly experienced and dedicated teachers, principal, and staff. Our API is at an 855 and climbing. Seventy-nine percent of the students are economically disadvantaged but we have met all of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and Program Improvement (PI) status. Seventy-one percent of our students are Latino, thirty-one percent are English learners, and nineteen percent have disabilities. Our students are hardworking and high achieving learners who have continued to do their best.
