  • Help Save the Bees, Please!

    Funded Aug 5, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students will be using this resource for this year's STEAM project. They are so excited! My students were curious about the box, so I let them look to see what they would use. Many wondered about the contents and how they would use it.

We are learning about the earth now but previewing animals for later in the year. All my students can think about is using the kit. My students have been placed in groups for science activities. They are getting used to working on observations and sharing information. They will be ready to use the kit. I am sure this will be the best project ever. Thank you again for making it possible for my students to have a fresh new project while learning about the bees.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Ready, Set, Practice!

    Funded Aug 16, 2024

My students are having a great time using the practice books. Their favorite is the "Interactive Phonics Journal." They love cutting and figuring out the words. Some even make it a game.

I don't need to tell them when to do it because they remind each other and it is a daily ritual. My students enjoy helping each other and sharing information. Some students are beginning to use words in their vocabulary.

This daily journal book is a great value for my class and each student told me it is fun because it's hands-on. Thank you so much for funding this project.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • I Spy Ink!

    Funded Jun 16, 2024

One of the best things done for my class is funding the ink cartridges! Ink is expensive and hard to get at a public school. Now, my students can do projects that require printing. They are so excited! My students are making "Genius Boards!" They are learning how to do this project in Google Classroom. They are happy they get to print them out.

My students will do other activities using Docs, PowerPoint, and Jam Boards in the Google Classroom. The ink cartridges will allow students to print their work throughout the year. We are grateful to you. Thank you for all that you do.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • I Spy Supplies!

    Funded Aug 4, 2024

Thank you donor for the generous donation. My students enjoy having their own P.E. equipment and are taking care of the balls. They are learning how to bounce, hit, and play handball. They had smiling faces when I took the equipment out of the box. One student said, "We have our own balls now!"

Students took turns sharing the ball and made sure everyone got a turn. Students have learned social skills since we received the balls. The folders will be used to hold students' work. They love having the laminated folders. One student mentioned how pretty they look.

The laminating machine will show students' work beautifully and allow it to last for a long time. They are excited about putting up work and are finishing their projects.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Ready, Set, Write!

    Funded Aug 4, 2024

My students use writing journals to answer daily questions given. Their writing is shared throughout the day when they present orally. The books are colorful and the pages give their writing a better look and style. Students enjoy drawing a picture that explains their writing. They look forward to writing every day.

The composition books are a tool for the writing process. Students write about a subject weekly on the full pages of these books. Shareout time is their favorite thing to do because they take the class on a journey of developing a story or style of writing. My students are a writing force because they don't have to use the school-provided paper. They have their writing journal. Thank you so much for making this possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • A Project Put Together! The Necessary Tools!

    Funded Aug 7, 2024

The art board is where students will display their artwork. They love art and can't wait to have their projects on display. We are working on their first display now. Bulletin boards are used for Math, Science, and Language Arts. The new board panel will display their artwork.

The other materials have been long needed. My students are happy to have the new staplers for the class. They use it properly which is a great help to me. They can staple their work independently.

Once again thank you for the wonderful supplies that will help my class run more efficiently.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

    Funded May 31, 2024

Thanks so much for your generous donation. My students have just begun using the headset and love having their own. The stand puts the headsets in an easy location to access. This is far better than having them on their desk. Students use the headsets for many things such as listening to stories and following directions for art. They use programs that have sound so the headsets are a convenient way to do work quietly without the noise of others.

Previously, students used the earbuds. Earbuds break easily and can be very loud. Students would lose the ear cushions and need to get another pair. The headsets cover their ears and make movement comfortable and easy. Once again I thank you and my students thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Sit and Listen!

    Funded Jun 5, 2024

Students have begun using the seat cushions and they are happy! The seat cushions are comfortable and easy to put on the floor in only a few moments. When my students shared their first writing experience the cushions made it easy to listen and enjoy what others were sharing because they were not sitting flat on the ground.

When they first saw the cushions, they asked what they were, and when I told them they wanted to use them right away and we did. The cushions make it possible for my students to sit longer without moving around so much because of the discomfort of the floor. Students are focused while others are presenting. This makes the carpet a better experience. Thank you so much for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

My students have to be the most energetic, enthusiastic, curious students that have ever walked on the face of this planet. They love science and always remind me of it when they constantly ask, "When are we going to do science?" Our school is one of the "most effective" schools in the California school system but our budget has been cut so we are forced to raise money for our projects. Our school is a public school with a variety of culturally diverse students. Our students are extremely motivated by the highly experienced and dedicated teachers, principal, and staff. Our API is at an 855 and climbing. Seventy-nine percent of the students are economically disadvantaged but we have met all of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and Program Improvement (PI) status. Seventy-one percent of our students are Latino, thirty-one percent are English learners, and nineteen percent have disabilities. Our students are hardworking and high achieving learners who have continued to do their best.
