Book Bags for Students!
Funded Oct 24, 2022Thank you so much for your contribution to our class in getting book bags for my students. Each month, students read a novel and keep a response journal. These bags will keep the novels and journals from getting lost or torn. They will also be a reminder for students to read from their book bags nightly. With your contribution, you've supported the literacy program that I've established in the classroom.
My students and I are so grateful for your generosity. I can't say enough about how grateful your kindness has been to our class this year. Thank you for supporting reading literacy in our class.”

Shelves to Home Books and Binders
Funded Oct 4, 2022Originally, we were looking forward to group shelves where students can place their book boxes and notebooks so that they wouldn't have to store them inside their desks. Amazon didn't have the shelves at that time. As a result, after the project was funded, I ordered color pencils, stuffed animal key chains, motivational stamps, and birthday pencils.
My students were able to use the color pencils to color their turkeys for Thanksgiving as they arrived just in time for this project. For students who liked using color pencils more than crayons, they were thrilled to have them. Since color pencils didn't fit into our school supplies budget, these color pencils were appreciated by all the students.
Finally, the stuffed little animals and birthday pencils bring smiles to birthday students. Students can't wait for their birthday in the classroom, so they can come to school with these gifts on their desk and a class song. It's all these little things that bring joy to students and teachers. So from all of us in our class, thank you so much for making this year a wonderful year. Thank you for your generous donations and support.”

Headphones Needed!
Funded Jan 23, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity. Your donations towards the headphones and timers have been put to use. The timers arrived right on time. Students have been practicing their one-minute reading with partners, and it's going very well. This practice has helped most students improve in their speed and accuracy. Overall, most of the students have improved at least 20 words per minute since we've received the timers.
As for the headphones, they have come in handy for learning as well. Students used them in the class when they are using Typing.Com or BrainPopJr. They also use them to listen to stories. They were very grateful when they found out how gentle these headphones were to their ears, unlike some others we've had.
All in all, the timers and headphones have been great resources for learning. Students are learning to read with speed and accuracy, and learning from videos or online applications at their speed because of the headphones. Your generosity has helped our class improve our skills. Thank you so much! My class and I are very grateful for your support.”

Funded Nov 18, 2021Every morning, the students walk into the classroom, they know to take out their homework folder, pencils, and water bottle. Then they quickly hang up their backpacks in the back of the room on the cart. When they return, they don't trip over student's backpacks like they did before while backpacks were on the backs of their chairs. In addition, without the backpacks on the chairs, they are able to be quickly move their desks and chairs for Class Meetings with ease. They aren't tripping over backpacks or backpacks aren't falling while they move their chairs. Most importantly, students aren't distracted with fidgeting with their backpack or taking things out of their backpacks throughout the day. The obstacle course and distractions of their backpacks have been almost nonexistent since we received the backpack up.
On the day we found out that our project was funded, the students cheered. But it wasn't until January 3 when they got to see the backpack cart. During the Winter Break, my husband and I went to school and put it together. On the first day back from the break, they were so excited to see the backpack cart ready for use. It didn't take long for them to know the routine of emptying their backpacks and hanging their backpacks on the cart. It left their areas more organized and things don't fall out of their backpacks like before. Also, they are able to move around the classroom with ease.
It is easy to say that my students and I are appreciative of the backpack cart. In addition, they have tremendous gratitude for all the donors who helped with the project. Your generosity has made such a huge impact on my students and myself. Thank you so much! You've made our classroom more efficient and safe for us all.”

Funded Dec 2, 2020With Distance Learning, it has been a challenge to provide different kinds of art projects for the students when many of my students don't have the supplies needed to try different mediums. The things we do are restricted to online games, sites, and drawings. With the water color paints, we can explore different ways to be creative all the while learning different techniques with brush strokes and how to mix colors. Students learn about primary colors and how they can mix the primary colors to make other colors. They can explore dark and light colors, warm and cool colors, and more.
Many Fridays prior to getting the water color paints, for art, we would watch a Youtube drawing and try to replicate the drawing. Then we would use our markers to color. With the new water color paints, students can take their paper outside and paint a landscape of their backyard away from zoom and return to show their work. The excitement of being able to go outside with their water color and paper to do that has been a gem. It gives them something to do away from the chromebook which has been a part of their daily activity. Being allowed to go outside to do their work and get some fresh air at the same time has been much needed for both students and myself. Thank you so much for giving my students this opportunity.”

Funded Dec 5, 2018My students and I appreciate your generous donations toward the two Chromebooks. At school, there are just not enough computers for all classrooms. Therefore, computer time for the classroom is limited. With reading and math online programs taking most of the time on the computers, there are little time for research and typing student reports. With the Chromebooks, students can come in during recess, lunch recess, or after school to complete these reports. I don't need to always assign reports for homework as they can be typed in the classroom. In addition, those students, who do not have access to computers at home, can use the Chromebooks to finish these assignments. Of course, students get really excited for the implementation and integration of technology in the lessons like interactive group games and Google Classroom to spice up the lessons.
In just one month, my students, especially those who have little or no computer use at home, have already become better researchers and typists. They are also becoming more fluent in computer skills and language. These are all skills that will give students an advantage on the state test and preparing them for a future where technology is key to success. For this, my students and I thank you for your generosity and your support. You've made a difference with my current class, and the classes to come. Thank you.”

Exceed Standards with Chromebooks
Funded Dec 20, 2016Once again, I would like to thank you! I've already seen a huge growth in the students' typing abilities as well as their computer skills along with their computer vocabulary and language. It usually takes some time for students to complete their in class projects. Because of the Chromebooks I have now, students are able to complete research and reports in a timely manner without waiting for the computer cart to get around. In addition, we've been practicing for the CAASPP test and it's been very helpful to have a group of students go into the website to take the practice test. During workshop, a group of students can practice typing, practice math facts, or finish their research. The groups rotate around so that each one gets a chance to work on their projects at least twice a week. These Chromebooks came at the perfect time. Each one of my students have worked hard in caring and using it appropriately. We are all very grateful for the support and the blessing you've given our classroom. Words cannot express our gratitude. Thank you so much.”
