  • Financial Success with Snacks and SurPRIZES!

    Funded Dec 10, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity towards this project. Having the students stay motivated is equally as important as having them learn, and you have made it possible for these students to keep striving.

My students are so excited to count up the points they've earned during the week and exchange them for the snacks and prizes. Some of my students spend only a certain number of points, and want to save the rest for the following week. This project has perfectly shown my students how to be accountable, stay motivated, and at the same time learn about financial success. Thank you so much for being a part of this project.”

  • Series Books Get Readers Hooked! Part II

    Funded Oct 29, 2021

We are filled with gratitude as you have chosen our classroom to donate to! With your generosity, my students' reading lives have been transformed!

My students cannot wait to go shopping for books, knowing they have other books in their favorite series they haven't read yet. One student in particular, who has always had low motivation for reading, was so excited to tell me all about the Biscuit series books. He mentioned how he loved following Biscuit along his different, mischievous journeys. Not only was he able to tell me the different events that occurred in each book, but he was also able to explain what was similar- how playful Biscuit is (providing a character trait- without even knowing it!)

I am in awe of the impact this project has made on all of my students, but mostly on the one student who was sometimes hard to reach. This is why books can be magic! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

  • Read Your Heart Out!

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you so much for contributing to our project. The impact that this project made on my students is incredible. My students are so excited now to go book shopping and read. They love finding rhyming words, word patterns, and sight words that we have been learning in class.

I was also able to place my students in book clubs with these books. Having many copies of a book really added to my students' excitement because it allowed them to read aloud together and help each other. Thank you again for making all this possible!”

  • Printing to Empower!

    Funded May 6, 2021

Having a color printer has been an incredible asset to our classroom. I have been able to make our classroom vibrant, and create accessible materials to all students.

Many of my students are English Language Learners as well, so I have been able to print out colored images with labels, and paste them around the room, to help them learn the language. I have also been able to print out posters, and images for anchor charts, which helps turn any basic chart into an appealing resource for the students.

The colored printer has also helped create math tools for the students to help them better understand content. For example, when we were learning concepts of place value, a colored place value chart helped students understand the different periods of the place value system.

These are only some ways the printer has been used in our classroom. As mentioned before, a colored printer is a crucial part of our classroom, and that is all because of you. We are honored that you chose our classroom to donate to! Thank you again!”

  • The Sky's The Limit With Cricut!

    Funded May 23, 2021

My students love this machine, especially watching it in action! They love the entire process of creating the design, choosing the material, and then watching the machine cut out the design.

My students have been able to create so many shapes with the Cricut machine, and use them to decorate their notebooks, for art, or other projects. They also use these unique designs to create cards. Many of our classroom banners and bulletin board displays also are made with this machine. It is absolutely amazing!

My students have also been able to personalize their supplies with vinyl labels of their names. The sky really is the limit with this Cricut machine. Up next, I am hoping to be able to make some shirts for our class, so that we can wear them whenever we go on a class trip! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated!”

  • A Little SPOT of Everything!

    Funded May 22, 2021

My students are absolutely in love with these books! They cannot wait for read-aloud time, or the chance to book shop, so they can get their hands on them.

Although we have not had the chance to read all the books yet in the collection, we have been reading the books based on the needs in our classroom. The first book in the collection we read was, A Little Spot of Confidence, as it seemed a lot of the students needed confidence to keep going, especially when learning gets difficult. We loved listening to how the confidence spot grew throughout the book, and at the end of the story, we completed an activity. The students had to draw the size of their confidence spot, and then had to write an affirmation that would not only allow their confidence to grow, but also read the affirmation any time they needed to, to keep going.

Thank you again for this beautiful collection of books that meet the social and emotional needs for my students!”

  • Special Surprise Sealed With a Stamp!

    Funded Jun 10, 2021

Distance learning had been very difficult this past school year, especially for the special education population, but with your support, you made it just a little easier for my students.

This project has probably been one of my favorites so far. Many of my students had never received their very own mail before, and once I told them mail was coming their way, they could not be more excited. Once they received their mail, they sent me pictures of the rewards through a parent communication app. They also told me how much they loved their bookmarks, scratch and sniff stickers, slap bracelets, and making their own stickers. The motivational cards that were sent in the mail also made them really happy. It was evident that receiving these rewards made the students more motivated to learn, day after day.

Thank you so much for making my students' last days of a very difficult school year, a lot more motivating and fun.”

  • Lamination Creations!

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you so much for your contributions to our project! The laminating machine and pouches have been so helpful in our classroom.

We have used the laminating machine to display rules, and COVID classroom safety posters. We have also used them to display bulletin board assignments, as well as anchor charts. I have laminated multiplication charts, 100 number charts, vowel charts, math games, centers, grid paper, number lines, and other tools, so that the students are able to use their dry erase markers on them.

Our classroom can now easily preserve anything students need, thanks to your support. Thank you so much again for making a huge impact in our classroom!”

  • Muster Up For Mystery Books

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

These books were such a great addition to our classroom. I have to say the Mysteries Unit was by far my student's favorite. They loved searching for clues until they found the culprit.

As we read a book, every character at first was a suspect. We kept a suspect list and would piece together the clues to see who we could cross off. It was also amazing how a lot of the story elements came together to solve a mystery.

We also were able to follow the characters through a series. We were able to dig deeper into the character's traits and personalities, as well as get to know more about their families. I can definitely see another project coming in the future to be able to add more mystery books to our classroom library. Thank you again for all of your support.”

  • Let the Games Begin! (Part II)

    Funded Mar 25, 2021

Thank you so much for helping to create memorable experiences for my students, and their families. At a time where everyone was scared, grieving, or missing out on milestones, these games helped bring some normalcy back.

My students' faces lit up with excitement when they saw the games they were receiving, and the parents were in awe when I explained to them that people donated to our classroom. They couldn't believe it, and were very grateful.

Now, with many months passed, my students have become my former students. However, when they see me around school, they still mention that they are playing these games with their families. Thank you again for helping my students get through a very tough time in their lives. I am forever grateful.”

My classroom is a fun and safe space where my students can be themselves, at the same time take risks and learn to be independent. My class comprises of twelve students with disabilities. Some of these disabilities include intellectual disabilities, speech/language impairments, emotional disturbance, autism, and other health impairments. Most of my students are English Language Learners (ELL) and come from a Latino/Hispanic background. They are the most caring, unique, and energetic students you will meet. They are filled with curiosity and are always eager to learn. They love to engage in fun activities, especially those that are hands-on.
