I am a teacher in a low income community. 100 % of my class receives free lunch. While some parents work full time, some work three shifts a day to support their family. Resources are limited and a lot of students are being raised by their grandparents My students are unbelievable! They come to school each day ready to learn. They are most excited during our math block. During this time, they are given the opportunity to work at centers with other students. We need more math centers for students to work on independently. These centers serve to fine tune many important skills that the students will be learning throughout the year. I feel as though I do not have enough centers to best fit the diverse learning needs of my students. My students need engaging and fun centers to help them learn and practice skills learned in the classroom.
