The beginning of class is a special time where I can connect with my students through discussions in close proximity. Talking, demonstrating and sharing in a face to face format is essential to maintaining quality art lessons. I can read books to students, we can have discussions, students can share their ideas with the class, and I can demonstrate art techniques up close. Children need a comfortable, visually pleasing place to sit during this time. My budget covers consumable art supplies, and the cost of a nice carpet is too expensive for me to buy all on my own.
