Literacy is extremely important throughout elementary grade levels, especially in the 3rd grade. This is the make-or-break age where kids either learn to love reading or, unfortunately, grow to hate it. These materials will help me to impart a love for literacy that will stay with my scholars for the rest of their lives. The tablets will make it so that they are not just limited to books in the classroom, but can access e-books and resources that truly grab their interest. The books I have chosen are titles that are not only inspirational, but they feature characters that my scholars can relate to. These books will remind them that they not only can they change the world, but they are not alone in it.
