  • Cut It Out!

    Funded Sep 1, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation!!! The paper has been very useful for the projects we have been making in our classroom. My students love creating and I have have been able to use it to cut paper for projects.

The paper cutter has been very useful for displaying work as well. I have used it to cut paper so I can frame the students art work to put in the hallway. I will also use it to make frames for the art show that is coming up in the spring. Once again thank you so much for helping my classroom out!”

  • Cut It Out!

    Funded Jul 13, 2022

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation to our school and classroom. Without your kindness certain projects would not be possible! We have used the scissors to create weaving looms. We have also use the scissors to create some sculptures and cut out pieces of cardboard. We have plans to use the tape to make some more sculptures later this year. I can't wait to see what the students come up with! When I showed my students the new materials their eyes lit up and are super excited to use these materials.”

  • Art In A Story

    Funded Jul 1, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my school and students! Your kindness has made a huge impact in our classroom. My students LOVE the new books in our room. These books have made it possible to incorporate literacy based art. We have used books like The Perfect Square, Lines That Wiggle, and Monster Love Color to introduce topics such as line variation, pattern, color, and shape. Being able to incorporate stories into my lessons have help students gain a deeper understanding of key components and make connections to the world around them.

My students also love to grab a book if they finish early and explore these topics their own!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gleason

  • Basically, I Need You!

    Funded Jan 21, 2022

Thanks you so much for all the new art supplies! My students have been busy creating drawings, paintings, making collages and more with all the new supplies you so kindly donated. When I filled the bins with the new crayons and markers my students were so excited and had such a big smile on their faces. They couldn't wait to start drawing and coloring their pictures. We are also very grateful for the paper towels and baby wipes to clean up the messes we have been making with creating all of our new art projects.”

  • My Printer's Done the UnINKable!

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to my project so I can get a printer for my classroom. The printer has been very helpful in the classroom this year. I often print idea sheets and directions for students for their projects. Idea sheets give the students some ideas and visual examples of things they might want to try while they are creating. For example, my 7th-grade class was working on Tim Burton's self-portraits. Due to your donations, I was able to print ideas sheets for them to look at while they were working. The idea sheets had examples of different eyes, mouths, noses, hair, and head shapes students could try. This made the project not feel so overwhelming to students who might be intimidated by a portrait project. My students are very grateful that they have these sheets to help them while they work.”

  • Kiki, Are You Drawing? Are You Sketching?

    Funded Nov 18, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity! The students have enjoyed the drawing books very much. They were so excited to see them when they came to our classroom. We use the drawing books all the time. They have become a wonderful resource in our art room. When the students are not sure how to draw something they know they can go grab a drawing book for assistance. This has helped foster some independence in many of my students. It has also helped students who might feel a little unsure about their drawing capabilities. They can use the books to help them and feel like they are able to draw if they have steps.

Once again, thank you for your gift. The drawing books have been a wonderful addition to our art room.”

  • Paint, Plaster, and Ink Oh My!

    Funded Oct 8, 2018

Thank you so much for being generous and donating to my classroom!!! Your donation made it possible to complete projects in the art room. The 5th-8th graders used the acrylic paint to paint their alebrijes. The 4th graders used the paint to make their sugar skulls. The whole school has used the watercolors for various projects. The 3rd graders are now used the mask forms and plaster gauze to make masks. There is a lot of fun, engaging, and creative learning happening in our art room due to your donation.

The kids were so excited to see the new materials when they came in. My students LOVE painting, so they could not wait to get their hands on it. My 3rd graders have never used any materials like plaster gauze so they come into art ready to learn about new art mediums.

Once again we appreciate your kind and generous hearts.”

  • Artistic Carpet Ride

    Funded Jul 25, 2016

My Preschool - third grade students LOVE the new carpet. When the younger classes enter the room, they go strait to the carpet. At the carpet I check in with the students, introduce the project, give a demonstration, make announcements...etc. The time at the carpet creates an intimate and close culture in my classroom. Last year I had a small plain carpet for the students to use, but it was not very functional. Some classes didn't fit on the carpet and the students were often squished. Now each student has their own spot. They know exactly were to sit, and everyone has enough room. This has made a tremendous impact on their learning and the community in the room.

Receiving this carpet was a perfect way to start the school year. My students were so excited and grateful that several people cared and donated the it us. My students (and me) also love that the carpet is full of colors, shapes, and paint cans. It helps the younger student learn shapes, colors, and helps them see how they are used in art.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gleason

My primary students are enthusiastic and active in art. They love to participate and create amazing art pieces. My students enjoy reading stories and watching videos that introduce them to new topics. They benefit from seeing a visual example and then applying the skills they learn at the carpet. My students are in a community of teachers who want to see all students succeed in all subjects. I work collaboratively with teachers to complete cross-curricular activities with the students. You'll see art happening in many classrooms outside of my own.
