  • Diversity in Literacy: Books & Colored Materials for Speech Therapy

    Funded Oct 22, 2021

Thank you for all of your donations. My students are loving the new books! They see more of their own representations in the books and I am also able to use them to target a variety of communication-related goals for speech therapy, such as articulating speech sounds, answering story questions, retelling/sequencing stories, describing pictures in complete and grammatically-correct sentences, and expressing their thoughts and opinions about the stories. With the laminated pouches and color ink, I was able to print out relevant pictures of each story to work on sequencing key events after a read-through. I was also able to increase the interactiveness of each story for my younger elementary students.

Thank you so much again for your generosity. May you have an upcoming wonderful year of 2022!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lam

  • TPT: Individualizing Speech Therapy for Each Student

    Funded Aug 27, 2021

Thank you SO much for the donations. Using these TPT gift cards, I am able to purchase and make speech therapy materials that are personalized to each student's goals, such as for phonological disorders, expressive language impairments, and social communication impairments. I am also able to spend less time on creating my own materials and more time planning tailored therapy activities. Their rate of progress and the effectiveness of therapy have both noticeably improved, all thanks to you.

On behalf of my students, I thank all of you for your generosity and kindness. It has been a tough school year for everyone, and kind gestures really go a long way. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lam

  • Communicate To Learn & Learn To Communicate

    Funded May 7, 2021

Thank you so much again for your generosity in funding my project. My students have been using these materials in the school year of 2020-2021 virtually via Zoom. They have gotten a lot of use with all the materials and enjoyed watching me play the games for them over the camera. Therapy sessions were much more effective with more materials that are tailored to students' specific goals. Students were better able to process and understand information. I was also able to make additional communication boards for my non-verbal students with the velcro dots. The articulation students LOVED seeing the mouth model and find articulation therapy so much more fun and engaging. As we move on to a new school year with in-person learning, my students are excited and looking forward to being back in my speech room and physically seeing these new materials, especially the "treasure box". These materials will be used repeatedly and benefit a variety of students in years to come. Thank you so much again for your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lam
