  • The Essentials for Student Success

    Funded Sep 28, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations. I will be using the materials to strengthen my students reading and math skills. I am Especially excited to use the supplies for a special professional development I was able to take this summer! Thank you thank you. You are the best!”

  • Is This Really Math?

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students especially enjoy the Math Noodle game. It is a fun way to learn math. The questions they love the most are the interactive questions. One question asks students to pull their ear for every odd number between 100 and 100. Another asked students to hop like a frog while solving a math problem and to say ribbit when they got the answer. This was especially effective for my students who have a hard time sitting still. The ability to move around while answering math questions made the game very appealing and successful for all! Thank you again for your generous donations.”

  • Sight Word Recognition = Fluency and Comprehension

    Funded Mar 19, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations toward my project. My students have absolutely loved the games and activities. They especially love the "Swat" game.

My students made great gains in their site word recognition because of the games that you provided. I teach students with special needs. It is hard to find activities that they don't feel are below their level. This is challenging when your working with 4th,5th and 6th grades students. The games provided practice without my students feeling below grade level. The games helped boost my students up 2 to 3 levels in their site word recognition. I am so proud of my students and the results of my Donors Choose Project.

We will continue to use the games and will start to incorporate some of the more challenging games. The idea is to keep their interest while they are learning.

Thanks again for all you do for educator's”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Osagie

My students need games and activities that focus on the sight word recognition, and building words to assist in their ability to read fluently and to build comprehension. My students will use these materials to explore their ability through building reading automaticity, making letters and sounds, and then words! These activities will be used during pull out times with my Special Education students. They will be able to use these games to become stronger readers. They will be able to learn to read and recognize sight words which will aid in their fluency while reading. Your generous donation to our project will improve my Special Education classroom by building stronger readers. This will change our students' lives for the better. They will love school and feel success --- having fun while learning! "The importance of sight word study /recognition. A child's ability to decode words is a very important part of becoming a fluent reader.
