Our elementary school supports over 500 students. Due to budget cuts, our cleaning staff has been reduced from 5 people to 1 and the limited space in the cafeteria has forced the kindergarten classes to eat lunch in the classroom. We share a building with the middle school, an additional 200 students. As a result, it is impossible for our custodian to clean the entire school thoroughly on a daily basis. Limited resources as well as the everyday messes that go along with the learning process make it difficult to keep the room at an optimal level of cleanliness. I am requesting a Casabella Quick 'n Easy Upright Broom and Dustpan Set, a Swiffer WetJet Wood Floor Mopping and Cleaning Starter Kit, and a iRobot Roomba 690 Robot Vacuum. These cleaning supplies will help us keep the classroom clean so that students have a healthy environment in which they can learn, interact, and grow. A space free of dirt, dust, and debris-- a space that is clean so that curious minds are free to explore unhindered by clutter. It also frees up the time I personally spend-- outside of regular classroom prep-- cleaning, so that I am better able to dedicate my time to my students.
