  • Help Us Have A Colorful Year in 2nd Grade!

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

The 2nd Grade Teaching Team is sending you our heartfelt thanks for your generous donations to our DonorsChoose project for art supplies. Thanks to your support, we are able to provide our students with the materials they need to explore, create, and express themselves through art.

Your contributions will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our young artists, giving them the opportunity to develop their creativity and critical thinking skills in ways that are both fun and educational. It's because of families like yours that we can continue to provide enriching experiences in the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Garger

  • Help Make Our Classroom Magical!

    Funded Sep 14, 2024

Thank you so much your kind and generous donations. With your help we have turned our classroom into a well oiled machine. Our students are learning responsibility for their materials using the crayon boxes, and baskets for all their books. They also love having a space that is all their own in the classroom. The hanging wall charts also help me keep organized with all of the homework, classwork, and assessments. I truly appreciate your help keeping us organized with your donations. I am so lucky to work in a community that supports our classrooms!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Garger

  • Spotlight Artist

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for. your donations for our artist spotlight program. Because of your generosity we have been able to add more art into our classrooms. Each week our students are so excited to see what artist we are learning about, what art project we will be doing, and what materials they get to use. We have studied artists such as: Frieda Kahlo, Alma Thomas, Yayoi Kusama, Georgia O'Keefe, Andy Warhol, and Romare Beardan. We have been able to diversify the types of projects we do based on the materials you helped us acquire! Thank you again for your generosity! It is greatly appreciated.”

  • Let's S-P-E-L-L!

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity to help our 2nd graders! We have been using our new spelling dictionaries and whiteboards every single day! (Sometimes more than once a day!) The students love the autonomy of looking up words they need to spell and love adding their own words that they use in their writing. These dictionaries have also given them the opportunity to expand their vocabulary as they are continuously looking up new words and reading the words for each letter.

However much they love the dictionaries, double that love for the whiteboards! Our students love nothing more than when they hear us say "take out your whiteboards." Whether we are writing words in phonics, or using them to solve math problems, or just letting them have some free drawing time, the whiteboards are a huge success for learning!

Thank you again for helping to make this year so successful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Garger

  • Cut It Out!

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in donating to this project. Having a Cricut has allowed to make different things for my classrooms. Although it is definitely a learning process, I am working to learn how to make different things for my classroom and students. I have been working on making different decorative signs for the classroom. One thing I am so excited to share the personalized bookmarks I made them for the holidays! My students have a huge love for reading and are reading chapter books. These bookmarks are a colorful way for them to remember where they left off in their favorite book! Thank you again for your generosity and I cannot wait to keep learning how I can continue to incorporate my Cricut into classroom learning!”

  • Teachers Helping Teachers

    Funded Jun 18, 2021

Sometimes the best resource for a teacher is other teachers. There are many times where I am looking to create a resource but am unsure exactly what I want or what to do. This is where Teacherspayteachers.com comes in. This resource has connected teachers with each other and allows us to share our resources! WIth your donations, I will be able to find resources such as worksheets, graphic organizers, powerpoint slides, and even google classroom resources to help individualize my teaching for each student. Thank you for helping me to individualize my teaching with this gift card. Your kindness and generosity will go a long way for my students.”

  • Get Your Nose Stuck in a Book!

    Funded Sep 30, 2020

We would just like to start by saying THANK YOU! Because of your contributions and donations our classroom library has grown exponentially. We have used these books in small groups, independent readings, and to model teaching points.

During this strange year having books that students can pick up and read feels like a luxury. So much of teaching and learning is done virtually and through a screen. Your gift has helped us with one aspect of learning that didn't have to change, reading! My students are able to go to the library, choose one of the new books, and read to their heart's content. It is nice to offer them something they can hold and touch, rather than just stare at a screen.

My students have also enjoyed reading the different genres that you helped purchased. Using the books we have learned to identify which are fiction and non-fiction and why. Since each pack of books came with multiple copies, students have been able to read the same stories and participate in shared reading activities. Even when sitting 6 feet apart, they can work on activities and have books discussions together!

All of us in my classroom want to thank your for your kindness and generosity! We have all had our noses buried in books and stories because of you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Garger
