Graphic Novels for a Fun Reading Experience
Funded Oct 30, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donations toward expanding our classroom library! Graphic novels are expensive and can be difficult to buy a lot of at a time, but with your donations expanding our graphic novel collection helps tremendously. The students have been excited to read the graphic novels that were added to our library. They wait for each other to finish a book and excitedly talk about their favorite parts. Graphic novels are very popular in my classroom and students are looking forward to reading more.
Thank you again for your support!”

Safe and Healthy Leaders
Funded Sep 8, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donations! We really appreciate it. The cleaning supplies and new tower fan have been very helpful in keeping our classroom clean. The tower fan is a lot more quiet than the previous fans that we have had. It helps to reduce the noise in the classroom, so students are able to better hear each other when they are sharing their ideas. It has also been very helpful in keeping an area of our classroom a lot cooler on warm days. We have also been able to clean our desks and door handles with the wipes each week.”

Tech for Tech Savvy Learners
Funded Nov 27, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity and support! Your donations will help to ensure that students will have a chromebook each day for learning in the classroom. They will also be able to use the headphones to listen to the apps we use to support learning in ELA and math. Thank you again for supporting my classroom!”

Funded Sep 29, 2022We have had a lot of fun using our new PE equipment. We use them in stations, where students rotate and get a chance to use all of the equipment. Their favorite are the scoop catchers. It's fun, yet challenging for them to throw and catch the wiffle ball.
They ask when we're going to use the equipment because it brings more variety to our PE time. Usually we run laps for the 100 Mile Club, but that can get repetitive. However with the our new tools, we can change up each PE time.
This year, we are continuing with 100 Mile Club, as well as adding on to each station, using different types of movement.”

Funded Jul 11, 2019I would like to thank you for your generous donation to Room 11's diverse books library corner! My students are loving the updated selection of books. We did a "book tasting" activity during the first week of school that allowed students to preview the new books. They were able to find their first reads of the year and were excited to discover books to read in later months.
My students have a lot of opportunities to read their free choice books throughout the day. We have silent reading everyday after lunch and after they're done with their assignments. Many students come in early at the beginning of the school day to read. I am happy that so many of my students are excited to read and want to recommend books to their peers.
Some of my reluctant readers are enjoying the graphic novels that were donated, such as, "Pie in the Sky" and "El Deafo." Other popular choices are: Alvin Ho, the Rick Riordan presents books, and "Ana Maria Reyes Does Not Live in a Castle." I can't wait to see what other books my students will enjoy this year!
Thank you once again!”
