iMac Needed
Funded Feb 24, 2025Thank you so much for your generous donations! I am beyond excited to share this wonderful news with my students — they will now have access to a Mac desktop computer during art class, opening up a whole new world of digital arts and creative possibilities.
With this computer, my students will be able to explore graphic design, digital illustration, and other forms of computer-based art, helping them build skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom. Additionally, having this computer means we can finally use our Cricut machine to create stencils and other design projects without relying on my teacher computer — making our workflow more efficient and giving students more hands-on opportunities.
Your support means so much to us, and I am so grateful for the opportunities you’ve provided my students. Thank you for investing in their creativity and future!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Spino
This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 2 other donors.Paper and Paint!
Funded Aug 28, 2016Painting is something students always look forward to doing in art class. It breaks up the year of just drawing projects and lets them use an art medium that would have not been in the budget without Donors Choose.
They love exploring with paint and learned how to mix primary colors to make secondary colors. They also learned more advanced color theory by mixing their own tints and shades. Its one thing to tell students how color mixing works, but when they actually get to do it themselves is when learning happens.
I plan to continue to use Donors Choose to bring materials to my students they otherwise would have not had access to.”

Ms. Spino
This classroom project was brought to life by the estate of Dorothea Lutz and 2 other donors. Can't Cut Without Scissors. Can't Paint Without Paint.
Funded Aug 3, 2016The items I requested for this project were basic supplies to start the year off with. Working in a high needs school there comes budget issues. Donors Choose is a great way to have at least the basics and then some to give to the students. No student wants to just read from the art history textbook. They want to create vibrant projects.
They love using sharpie markers instead or Crayola markers that dry out a lot faster. The better quality the material the more pride they take in their art work.
Thank you for your support and I will continue to use Donors Choose to make sure my students get the chance to create!”

Funded Jun 15, 2016It has always been my passion to share ceramics with my students. I was excited to know that the new school I was moving to had a kiln available to use. My expertise is in ceramics and there is something special about making something from nothing. Unfortunately their was the kiln but being a high needs school with budget issues there was no clay or glaze.
Students were motivated and excited to get to use the clay. This is material that some of them never had the chance to use. They made tea cups and then Greek Vases with this funded project which they were proud of.
I would like to continue to use clay in my classroom to further keep students engaged and learning about this material.”

This classroom project was brought to life by the estate of Dorothea Lutz and 6 other donors.Add Color To My Students' World!
Funded Nov 14, 2015I thank you for providing art materials to my students. When the boxes came to my school I had a couple of older students help me carry the supplies to my classroom and they asked if they could open the boxes. They were so excited to see what was inside. Opening the boxes and seeing paint, water colors paint, and markers made the students excited to use these materials (they also thought the bubble wrap was fun too). These materials allowed me to plan lessons that I could have not planned before.
With the current budget issues with the district in which I work my students would have not gotten to paint without your donations. I see over 600 students a week and have planned a painting lesson for each grade level. The students love to paint and get so excited when it is a painting day now. They also are enjoying using the fresh markers. Before getting the donation they only had half dried out markers from the previous year. It makes it hard as a teacher getting students excited about their project when they have materials that are dried out and old. Now they are happy to use the markers and are proud of their finished project.
Again, I thank you for your donation. My students appreciate your contributions as well. Without this donation it would have been a difficult school year in art. Now, it is an exciting year with students who are eager to explore different materials. Fostering creativity in children is so important in their education because innovation is key to our future.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Spino
