My school is considered a high poverty school due to the high poverty area it is located in. My students however do not project the stereotypical attitude students of poverty areas sometimes are depicted as having. They enter school with warm smiles on their faces ready and eager to learn. They are prepared and have a strong desire to succeed. Often times at the end of the day some ask to stay after school to continue learning more math. The desire this students have truly warms my heart on a daily basis, it gives me peace of mind knowing that my students feel safe and comfortable enough that they want to continue learning at school.
