  • Academic Rotation Centers

    Funded Oct 10, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous financial support. We appreciate your help with providing us with items to use during our rotations. We have been working on tracing using our ABC board. We use our colorful dots during rotations so that our students know which center to rotate to during academic rotations. In addition, students use their visual schedule to the corresponding dot.

We have been introducing each items one at a time so that they do not get overwhelmed. Thank you for selecting us. We appreciate your generosity.”

  • Making Art Accessible To Students with Special Needs.

    Funded Oct 5, 2022

As we get into the Holidays, we have been having tons of funs using our new art supplies. We have been using our crayons to color not only during art but during math and other projects. We used many of the items to make colorful turkeys. We kept our clothes clean by using the smocks. We also used our spilled proof cups to keeps the paint inside safely sealed with a cup. Since many of my students have fine motor limitations this allowed for them to become more independent while painting. My staff and I did not have to worry about the paint being spilled over their projects and/or clothes.

Thank you again for the difference you have made.”

  • Classroom Essentials for Productivity!

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

We appreciate your generous financial support towards help my classroom be more productive. We use our timers during academic rotations. This has allowed our students stay on task.

My students are beginning to understand that when the timer rings we need to move on to our next activity. This especially helps my students with vision impairments. because they have a difficult time looking at a visual schedule. This has allowed us to save time and remain on task.

We are also using the vacuum to teach our students a life skill. Students take turns assisted by staff members and clean up left over food and/or material.

Thank you again for your assistance.”

  • Teaching Independent Life Skills

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you again to for your financial support. Our students are learning to become more independent during meals and snack times. This is a very important life skill for them to learn and carry out throughout their life. Sometimes just having the right equipment makes a huge difference. Many of my students struggle with fine motor skills and have other physical impairments that do not allow them to hold on to an eating utensil without it being a struggle.

We will continue to focus on these life skills and believe that our students will continue to make strides. This could not have happened without your generous support.

Thank you again for believing in my students.”

  • Supporting Social and Emotional Learning for Students with Special Needs

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thank you so much for your support and contributing towards our Social Emotional materials. When teaching Social Emotional material to students with cognitive disabilities it is important to make appropriate adaptions.

Keep in mind what challenges each student may have in order to be able to grasp concepts of the material. It is difficult finding items for students with cognitive disabilities. Some students with intellectual disabilities may struggle with concepts and purpose of a typical lesson.

These items will allow me to adapt curriculum based on my students abilities. My lessons will take a hands on approach. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.”
