• Comfortable Music Chairs for Young Musicians: Part Three

  I’m thrilled to share the wonderful news—our project, Comfortable Music Chairs for Young Musicians: Part Three, has been fully funded!

  Thanks to your kindness and support, our music room will receive 23 brand-new chairs. These chairs will make a real difference for my students. Many of them spend a large part of their day in uncomfortable, wobbly seats that aren’t meant for music class. Now, they’ll have safe, sturdy chairs designed for proper posture while singing, playing instruments, and learning.

  This might seem like a small thing, but to my students, it’s huge. These chairs will help create a more welcoming, focused, and inclusive learning environment where students can concentrate on making music—not on getting comfortable.

  Great news! Our project A Recorder for Every Child: Empowering Young Musicians has been fully funded! Thanks to your incredible generosity, 120 students will now receive their very own recorders. This means that every child in our program will have the opportunity to learn music hands-on, practice at home, and participate fully in class without barriers.

• Bringing Music to Life: Recorders for Elementary Students (Part One)

  Thank you so much for helping bring music to life in our classroom! The day the recorders arrived was filled with pure excitement. For many of my students, this is their very first time learning to play an instrument, and it's been a wonderful and empowering experience.

  We've already started our recorder journey with lessons focused on basic technique, rhythm, and the first few notes. Students proudly play simple songs, and I've watched their confidence grow with each class. These instruments have not only made learning more engaging but have also given my students a sense of ownership and pride in their musical growth.

  Next, we'll be learning how to read more complex rhythms and prepare for a classroom performance to share our progress. Thank you for making this possible – your kindness has created a lasting impact on my students' musical education and joy in learning.”

• Strumming and Playing: Modern Ukulele and Recorder Curriculum for Success

  I am beyond grateful for your support of our project, Strumming and Playing: Modern Ukulele and Recorder Curriculum for Success. Thanks to your kindness, my students now have access to engaging, modern curriculum materials that make learning the ukulele and recorder both fun and effective. While we already had the instruments, we were missing structured resources to guide our lessons — and now, that gap has been filled!

  The excitement was clear the moment I introduced the new curriculum. My students couldn't wait to dive into the colorful, easy-to-follow lessons, and the interactive activities have kept them motivated and focused. With these materials, we've already started learning ukulele chord progressions and simple recorder melodies, giving students a strong foundation in music reading, rhythm, and performance. One memorable moment was when a group of fourth graders confidently strummed along to their first song, proudly following the new music charts.

  Looking ahead, we're preparing for a classroom concert where students will showcase what they've learned, blending ukulele strumming and recorder tunes into a lively performance. Your generosity has brought structure and creativity to our music program, helping my students grow as musicians and boosting their confidence along the way.
