With fall and winter just around the corner, I want to make sure my students have access to games and activities, such as classic games, a blocks learning center, and pattern blocks, during indoor recess. I would like for my students to have experiences that would help them build the skills of cooperation, sharing, compromise, and encouragement, all of which are essential elements for developing a sense of community. I also would like to provide my students with the necessities for great whole group instruction. In lower elementary whole group instruction takes place at the carpet with the teacher modeling the process. With chart paper and magnetic hooks I can provide this as well as record a student's ideas and discussions to display around the room.
