  • Basic Supplies for Project-Based Learning

    Funded Feb 29, 2024

Thank you so very much for supporting this great project. My freshmen students are going to benefit from access to these basic supplies so much. Especially as so many of our young learners are unable to participate in exciting project-based learning regularly, these items are going to make such an impact! Our classroom is going to have supplies for some time now thanks to this donation! We are so appreciative of the support for project-based learning projects like these.

We are really looking forward to continuing this school year in the most positive way possible. Our students and staff experienced a difficult school year last year due to teacher shortages and learning loss from the pandemic. Creating a classroom environment that is positive, supportive, respectful, and engaging is tantamount to a successful year in 2023-24. We couldn't do it without the support of the Donorschoose community.

Please consider our class for the future. Right now we are requesting some basic classroom supplies and cleaning products in our live projects. Our future project requests will include items like printers for our STEAM club, cutting edge technology, language learning items, professional development, hydroponic gardens, composting supplies, materials for our chicken incubating projects, mindfulness items, and basic needs like books and notebooks. We are so grateful for your support!”

    With gratitude,

My students work diligently to create a more sustainable environment within our high school. Using a program called Eco-School, we perform rigorous sustainability audits of our school. To combat the issues we find, my Eco-School kids will grow hydroponic produce in class to support healthy lifestyles and more eco-friendly habits. They will use rainwater collection systems to purify their water. They will compost, create healthy eating initiatives, learn outdoors, and much, much more. To do this, we use a Project-Based learning teaching method. They develop leadership and public speaking skills, explore their ecological footprints, and drive their own learning. Their knowledge of their personal environmental impact has increased substantially. Supporting our classroom supports a fully student-led, student-driven environmental goal that will help to foster future generations of environmentally conscious citizens.
