Learning to Love Math!
Funded Nov 29, 2022In the time since we received our new resources, the impact they have had on my teaching and my students' learning is immeasurable. We are using items like the foam dice, magnetic counters and ten frames daily. The organization containers have made routines in our groups seamless. Students are able to come in, get their materials, and be ready to learn in less than 10 seconds; and that's huge when some of my groups are only 20 minutes long! The students are so excited when we get to use the numerous math tools we now have at our disposal.
As I stated in the original project, our Kindergarten school never had a math intervention teacher before this year. Your incredibly generous donation has made it so we had the resources and materials necessary for intervention groups very close to the start of the school year. I remember the first day my students walked in and saw all of the new materials organized in the clear bins and easily accessible for them; they immediately wanted to play with everything. As is necessary when introducing new materials to five year olds, we have had days when students are exploring their new materials; that time has given me insight into my students that I never would have had the opportunity to gain if we were limited on resources.
Again, I cannot thank you enough for everything you have given us. It means so much more than some money and resources. You have given us experiences we never wouldn't have had otherwise.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Fay
