Funded Sep 7, 2018Thank you so much for the donations. My students love the journals. We use them every week. The journals are helping with their oral skills as well because they share with a partner before writing in the journals. The rainbow book organizers really look great in our room. I was able to organize the books according to topic. Now i don't have to go searching for a type of book. I know exactly where all the book are. We are so grateful for any help we get. I wish you could see the look on my student's faces when the donations arrive.”

ETK: Great Start!

You helped by donating materials that allowed us to incorporate art and creativity into our daily activities. Our school is an art's magnet so we learned about many artists and I needed lots of materials to help make my lessons more interesting. Students were able to do weekly art projects that helped to make their learning more concrete. Thank you so much!”

We are using the picture word journals in conjunction with the ETK curriculum to enhance their learning of the alphabet. Most of the students recognize all the letters and almost have the sounds down. Our students are going to be prepared for kinder next year! They love learning numbers using the dough mats. It is a very tactile way for them to gain of understanding of number sense. Learning with Play-doh is so much fun for them.

Extra! Extra!
Funded Mar 21, 2016Thank you so much for your donations which allowed us to get three bean bag chairs, math boards and a speaker.
The students love the bean bags and get to use them during silent reading time. The math boards are a great way for the students to practice their math skills. They use these when they finish early. The speaker has great sound quality. We use it to take more brain breaks where the students get to dance or move to videos on GoNoodle. We also use Youtube.education videos a lot more to enhance lessons and increase enthusiasm for learning.”

Funded Apr 18, 2016I want to thank you so much your generous donations. The two second grade classes loved the fantastic animal masks that they wore in the play, Wackadoo Zoo.
It was really fun when the masks arrived. I opened each box with all the students present. The masks came in different shipments. It was such a surprise when I pulled out the masks.
They rehearsed for over two months. The play was an amazing success. The children received accolades from family, friends and other teachers.

We Love Art!

Thank you so much for the Blick Economy Canvas Panels, "Look What I Made!" Art Frames and the Bright Giant Washable Color Ink Pads. These items really made an impact on my students. They screamed when I showed them the stamp pads. They were able to use the stamp pads to decorate letters that they sent to each other. This encouraged a lot of writing in my class. We used the art frames to show off their art on Back-to-School night. Thank you again for your generosity!”

Enhance the Learning in Our Class!
Funded Nov 2, 2015Thank you so much for your generosity. We are so grateful for the iPad charging station, blank hardcover books and Sharpie markers.
We use the iPad charging station every day. This allows us to keep the iPads in the room for the students to use.
The students are currently writing the stories for their blank hardcover books. They were so excited when I showed them the books and explained the assignment. When the students are done writing and illustrating their books, they will use the Sharpies to design the covers. We will display the books at open house. Students will also have an opportunity to read their stories to students in other classrooms.
As you can see, your donations enhanced the learning in my class. Thank you so much!”

Let's Make a Book!
Funded Mar 21, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donations. The students in my class had such a great time creating their own book. They either wrote an original story or rewrote an existing story. They illustrated their books and read them to other classes. This was the second year that I had students do this assignment and I plan to do it every year. One student from our class had his book published!
I am sorry for sending this thank you so late. I took pictures of all the students and their names were on the books so I had to retake pictures this year.”

Connect to the World!
Funded Sep 15, 2014Thank you so much for your donations that helped purchase a Chromebook for our classroom. With your support we have been able to turn our class into a more engaging place. Students have been able to use the Chromebook to gain access to many learning sites such as Starfall and a variety of educational math sites. The students are always very excited when it is their turn to use the Chromebook. The Chromebook allowed students to gain more computer knowledge and skills. The children and I thank you very much!”
