Kindergarten Kickoff
Funded Sep 2, 2023Thank you so much for making my project happen. It has had such an amazing impact on my classroom and my students. Because of this project, I have been able to differentiate my instruction to meet the needs of all my diverse learners. We have a lot of newcomers this school year and students with little to no English. A lot of my materials from the project are helping my students build their language skills and have more confidence in speaking up in the classroom. Because of this, my classroom has become a more welcoming and inclusive environment.
This project has also allowed me to give my students lots of different ways to learn their letter names and sounds. I was able to order lots of materials that support their learning of the alphabet, which is a great foundation for these students to become readers and writers. I am thankful for the impact this project has made on my students.”

Funded Oct 28, 2020Thank you all so much for your generous contribution to my students and their supplies. Because of the contributions, I was able to send every kindergarten student home with an online learning box, that included all the supplies they needed. These learning kits allowed students to access the learning from home and complete virtual learning successfully. Students all received their own colored box with their name on it, and it included many fun and educational tools for them to keep forever. When my students saw the supplies that they were getting to take home they were so excited. A lot of them don't have any of their own school supplies at their home, and it was very special for them to have their own. I believe that students were so excited about their supplies that they took really good care of them and it motivated them to try their best when completing learning at home.
This year has been very different than any other year, and the rest of the year is still uncertain. Luckily, I feel ready to help my students in whatever setting the rest of the year holds. Whether we return fully in person, or continue a hybrid model, students will be supported and their new supplies will continue to be used. Thank you so much again!”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Donor and 11 other donors.Classroom Essentials
Funded Nov 22, 2018I want to start by thanking you so much for your generous donation to my Donor's Choose project. It has already impacted my classroom in several positive ways and I am so grateful for your generosity. My classroom is full of learners who are always excited to try new things and learn in different ways. Because of the new items in my classroom, students have been able to take full advantage of their interest in trying new things.
The pocket chart stand is already used in so many ways in my classroom. This is used for whole class lessons, as well as small group lessons, and literacy station activities. When I am introducing a new poem to the class, I write out the words of the poem and display it on the pocket chart. This allows students to see the words in big print as they are reading it. I use this as a literacy station as well, and have kids create the poem by putting the words to the poem in the correct spot. I also use the pocket chart stand for literacy stations where kids can build CVC words when given multiple letters. My students are so excited to work on these activities in a group and be able to present their work on the stand for others and myself to see.
Another part of my Donor's Choose project that is exciting to my students is the laminator. I use this to laminate pages so that students can write on them with dry-erase markers. I use these laminated papers for literacy stations as well. Students have to build a sight word with magnetic letters and then write it on the paper with a dry-erase marker. Since the papers are laminated, students can rewrite the word and continue practicing it multiple times. Students can also take turns with different pages that have different sight words on them. My students love to use dry-erase markers so they are always very engaged in this sight word station.
Thank you again for your generosity. It has already made an incredible impact on my classroom, and I am excited to see more success come from this project.”
