As a teacher, there is no better feeling than seeing students enjoying reading. I am asking for these resources to help create a larger classroom library. I have learned that no matter who the student is there is some kind of text for everyone. In my request, I have included books that I feel will interest a large variety of students. I have tried to ask for books that will be suitable for students who are very intimidated to read, as well as my most advanced readers. One of my favorite quotes is, "A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies… The man who never reads lives only one." -George R.R. Martin. Not all of my students have the resources to allow them many hobbies, trips, and adventures, which makes reading all the more important. Through this project, I am hoping that my students will have the opportunity to look through another lens and learn to love reading.
